I already have a wireless router downstairs but seeing as i have a phone connection in my room it would be much faster to connect xbox and ps3 through wires. Also would actually be able to use xbox live without spending 50 quid on a xbox wireless adapter!

Would prefer it to include all cables etc.
But offer what you have

Does your wireless router not have 4 wired ethernet ports in the back of it?

I don't think that's going to work.

Your broadband connection won't allow 2 routers recieving from the same phoneline. And besides... a wired router won't have an adsl connection anyway.

Only thing you can do is move the current router, up to your extension. Then you can use ethernet cables from the back of it to go into xbox/ps3.

you need a switch wired from your router or another router set in bridge mode.

You can have a wired router if you don't use the other one at the same time, We have done this in my house. I have a wireless down stairs and a wired up stairs. Works perfectly fine for the 360 just remember to switch the other one off.

Wired routers do have ADSL Connections, Because thats what i'm on
