Hi there, long time lurker and first time poster here. I'd like to get a 360 for a friend who just had e74 on his box. Has to be an unbanned box. Would prefer it to have LT+ and a 20GB HDD but no probs if not. Only really need a 360 but could pay extra if it came with a pad and HDD.
Shipping/Payment:
Brand new buyer here so happy to pay first via a paypal gift (seems to be the done thing here). Have pleanty of ebay feedback and will do what I can to make seller confident that this is completely genuine.

I have one £50 + p&p (about £7)

Flashed with the latest LT also with a Samsung drive

Fully working
#3
Would you just be sending the box or would that include cables? If it is LT+ and unbanned I'd be very interested though, sorry for slow reply, thought there would be some sort of notification for posts in a selling thread.
#4
Really interested, just whenever you pick this up could you post some more info about firmware version, what's included, any history of repairs and cosmetic condition. Would love to say "Deal" but just need more info so we're both on the same page.
#5
Had a look at your thread and it answered all my questions that I had for you. On the assumption that this will include the power supply (not sure my friends would be compatible so will need one) I'll say happily say deal. Get in touch with your details and I'll have payment with you asap.

PS sorry to mods if this looks like bumping.

Hi

I cant do the console, Power Brick & cables for £50 I'd do it for £65 + p&p

its a 203W version & the power bricks bring £20 on Ebay alone

Check your friends Power Brick first & if it says OUTPUT DC 203W then you wont need mine anyway
#7
Is the samsung drive original or spoofed? And the 360 is definitely not banned from Live?

If it is the original drive and not flagged or banned then I'd happily take the console for £50 + p&p.
banned#8
Samsung is original & has never been spoofed

It's not flagged or banned

I'll send you my payment details over
#9
Done deal, swapping details and confirming payment details now. Hopefully will be a great first purchase on here!

I've just recieved the 360 and plugged it in. The console immediately suffered the 3 lights RROD error and I've taken photos to document it. Robbieukranger has been great throughout this process keeping me up to date with the delivery info and packaging the console very well. Unfortunately I also needed the power supply so I've paid a total of £75 and ended up with a console with exactly the problem as the old one I was buying this one to replace.

I'm brand new to buying on here so not sure how to proceed, I'd like this to remain civil and work out a solution. Again, with not being sure of how to proceed, I'll report this to the mods to get some advice and input. Pics to follow in next post.

ecosse87, if the item was received 'not as described' then the seller should request return of the goods at their expense and make arrangements to refund. Unfortunately things can go wrong with items and how the matter is resolved should be reflected in the feedback comments for the trade. Goods remain the responsibility of the seller until the buyer takes possession and affirms they are okay. Please ensure that the issue is not caused by another problem first though.

** Step by step check list on the link above to confirm it is 3 RROD.

Thanks for the reply Sigma. Yes it definitely is RROD. I've just managed to get it to turn on and get to the dashboard for about a minute so it's definitely not a loose cable. The power supply light is green so that's not the issue either. Because I managed to get the dashboard this time I've now found a second problem: the DVD drive is stuck and won't open. Obviously it's completely unusable as it is.

The 360 was packaged securely (lots of bubble wrap in the box) but it must have been damaged in transit by Hermes. I'll repackage the 360 and arrange to have it returned to robbieukranger. Hope this can all be resolved amicably.

No it's plugged in correctly and 3 lights is RROD, thanks for trying to help though. PS one of the pictures looks like it's 2 red lights, it's actually 3 but difficult to take a picture of flashing LEDs.

Just as an offer of goodwill to robbieukranger I'm willing to pay return postage in exchange for a full refund for the 360 and postage I have paid. It would mean we've both lost out on postage 1 way each and assuming it was damaged in transit then you might be able to claim for damages (I don't know if it's covered or not).

Hi Ecosse87

The xbox was fully checked working before I sent it this included playing on it for a good few hours before dispatch

Im happy to have it back to test it out

You have my address for return postage

Can I just say that you would get a E74 screen error if its the RROD not the dashboard
so if you could please double check all the connections including (if you can) using another media cable also check the switch on the cable because if you have it sent wrong that will cause it not to work

Let me know
#18
Hi robbieukranger,

I don't have your address but if you could PM it to me I'll arrange a courier asap. I've had limited success getting the 360 to work. The DVD will open but only in the horizontal position, when it is vertical the drive sticks and won't open. I've managed to get into a couple of games so far (retail & good condition discs), with MW2 I got into an online game and managed a couple of rounds before it has crashed (see pic).

I'm happy to send it back to you and understand you will want to see the faults for yourself. The performance has improved a little since I used it earlier, at first it wouldn't boot at all, then I got to dashboard with really bad graphical glitches, then it almost loaded a game and now it can play a game for a while before crashing. If I were to send it back to you I couldn't accept it back though, even if it was on best behaviour for you I know it is faulty.

It's on the verge of complete failure. I'll give you the benefit of the doubt that it wasn't like that when you had it and this has occured in transit but it's very clearly on it's last legs. Like I said I'm happy to pay return postage to you as a goodwill gesture however I've demonstrated the fault and provided pics as proof so I would be expecting a refund.

Looks like it is a rrod repair and the GPU chip is basically dead.

Ive PM'd you my address
To be fair you should let me confirm that the xbox does not work as Ive had no problems with it ever

If any fault is found I would not expect you to take it back but if no fault is found then I would

Thanks aScottishBloke.

I've organised a courier for tomorrow (Hermes, same service as used to send it to me). I hope you can see this from my perspective that I've paid just over £7 to return it to you and you'll soon have both my money and the 360. I am putting a lot of trust in yourself considering I recieved the 360 in faulty condition. I'm very confident you will find exactly the same faults I have but I have to be clear that I can't accept the 360 back from you. This isn't a case of me changing my mind about wanting a 360, I've actually just paid for one from another user here. I've absolutely no motive to be dishonest here and I've had a 360 since they launched so I know how to set it up properly.

So we can take the discussion forward once you have recieved it and tested it yourself, hope to hear back from you by Monday or Tuesday next week. Hope we can resolve this and my first trade on here won't turn out too badly. All the best, ecosse87

Quick update: The 360, power brick and component cable were picked up today by myhermes. Same packaging and same service used to send it to me. However once it had been picked up I found that I had forgotten to put the power cable in... Bit of a silly mistake but I've sent it out via 1st class RM in a padded envelope so should arrive before the console does.
#26
Haven't heard back from robbieukranger about this yet but the 360 should have arrived by now. Hoping to get this resolved asap so I've PM'd to draw this to his attention.
#27
I asked robbierangeruk to respond in the thread but he has PM'd me to say he is not home to check the 360 and won't be able to check it till some time mid-week next week. i.e I have to wait another week before I get to find out if I get my £75 I paid refunded. Trying to remain positive and constructive in this but this is getting very very frustrating.

I'm uploading video evidence now as the photos weren't enough, at the time I took the video the 360 was only showing the faulty dvd drive and not the graphical glitches, crashing and red lights but it's better than no evidence at all. Asking for mod input as I don't think it's fair for robbierangeruk to keep my money for another week when he never even mentioned he wouldn't be home when I sent the 360 at my expense.

robbieukranger,

Trading ban implemented until this trade is resolved.

Are you really away from home and cannot check, I can see where you've posted from today and in the past, including this thread, so I'm a little concerned.

Please do offer some clarification in this thread re both issues.
#30
Still haven't heard from robbieukranger. Very concerned that the story about being away from home does not appear to be genuine. I do have a contact phone number but I would rather not to get into a confrontation over the phone or to involve the users family members if someone else was to answer.

I'll leave the matter until Monday morning but from that point I'll have to make phonecalls and try to chargeback the payment made. If that's not successful and robbieukranger doesn't make contact then I'll be forced to contact his local police station (worst case scenario). This will definitely be a lesson for me for future trades, very disappointed in how this has turned out.

OK Ive had time to check the 360 this mornng after getting home (I was away & not lying)

Your right it has RROD so I tried a new AV cable just in case but no different

Ive also opened up the console to check my security markings on the inside & on the motherboard & DVD drive itself I found the case markings but no motherboard or DVD drive markings

These can NOT rub off or disappear Im a little concerned as to why these markings are not there

Can you shed any light on this?

MOD* A trading ban is a little harsh given my feedback & time on the forum

robbieukranger,

I've noted your comments, however I don't agree with your statement with regards to being at a different location, considering I can see where you have posted from.

The trading ban remains until this is resolved to both parties satisfaction.

Hi robbieukranger,

very glad you've posted again in the thread, was very worried there. I did absolutely nothing with your console to remove any security markings, it is in exactly the same condition as when sent to me. I've had two other trades on here that have gone absolutely smoothly while this mess has been going on, 1 for a working 360 and the other for a PS3.

So if these security markings aren't there then it seems you're implying I've swapped the DVD drive and motherboard but given you back the original case. Obviously I can't prove that I haven't but I'd like to appeal to common sense on this one. I only have your word that there were security markings there and you only have mine that I haven't done anything to it. Actually, if you think parts have been swapped then boot the 360 to the dash (assuming it'll boot at all) and check the serial number, it'll be the same as the one on the case.

Please just refund my money, this has gone on for far too long.
#36
ecosse87, can you post a photo as quickly as possible with your friend's xbox connected showing the E74 error and the back of the xbox showing the serial clearly in the same shot?

robbieukranger, can you show clear photos of the markings, and surely you took a photo of the markings with date proof (eg newspaper) before you sent the console, otherwise the markings are useless?
#37
Hi Jackg, appreciate the input but sadly that's not possible on my end. I can't take a photo of my friends e74 console as it's already gone on ebay, I sold it as faulty just to get rid of it and I had dispatched it before the console from robbieukranger had arrived.

Sold e74 console

i prob get moaned at here but....
sammy drives had a fault where they always got stuck,u had to leave a disc in to stop it from jamming closed.
203w console still being alive past 2010 without having any temp fix doing is a miracle.
3 red rings it can get to dash
e74 it wont get to dashboard as thats past 3 red rings in seriousness as its started to have effect on the upsacling chip aswell as the gpu
the blocks on screen are typical gpu dead signs.

red rings would not be caused by transit either, its from overheating nothign else

i wouldnt even buy a falcon chipset xbox 360 due to problems of overheating

ramiuk1- I agree 100%

A 2006 Xenon Xbox is and always will be a faulty console. Whether it works for a week or 3 years, Xenons are inherently faulty and cant be permanently repaired and should not be allowed to be sold here as "working". This isn't opinion, it's fact. But that is a topic for the feedback forum.

For the markings to have any weight, robbieukranger should have taken photos of the motherboard, DVD drive, metal cage, front USB ports with all the serial numbers and markings shown clearly with proof of date -like a newspaper in the photo. Photos should have been taken of the markings and posted in the thread before shipping. As robbieukranger did not do that, we can only take his word for it.

I can understand robbieukranger's suspicions but if he is going down the route of claiming to "mark" parks then he should provide suitable evidence.

Unless robbieukranger can provide hard proof that the parts were changed then ecosse87 is due a refund immediately, any more delays are unacceptable.
