to get onto xbox live you will also need to get connected to the internet.

either wirelessly using an xbox 360 wireless adaptor

or wired, straight to your router or bridged though your laptop.

They never said they didnt know that! What they were saying was that in order to get onto xbox live service you need the pack which is partly true.

Some online games only work if you have a hard drive installed and of course you need a subscription to connect.

I have a 20 gig hard drive but not sure if that is what OP wants.

Yeah any xbox hard drive will do if you buy the sub seperate.

If you arent bothered about installing a lot of stuff the 20 gig hd is perfect, the only way you would need more is if you install every store bought game you own to dvd as most are 4-6 gig each or had dozens of large Arcade games.

You can also use a usb memory stick instead of an official xbox hard drive.

Not for everything, and the cache is slower anyway.

XBL requires the hd for some games and wont accept the usb device.

I have one of these BNIB, never opened, never used Bought for £30, sell for £30 plus PnP of your choice. Need to recoup moeny spend.

Was going to buy 360 but now need money for car repairs

Check your local Argos store first though, some showing at Alnwick, just depends where you are
