Is it a version 7xxx or 8xxx Liteon?

And yes once you've got the key you can spoof it to whatever you like
#2
ill open it up again and check tonight but i think its a 2008 model so im guessing 7?
#3
as long as its not been back to microsoft for repare, it will be a 7xxx m8

thanks scattman84 you where right iv just opened the console and it's a DG-16D2S HW:AOA1 FW:74850C

You just need a probe then, somebody on here was selling a full kit for around £20 yesterday I think.

Do not replace the liteon with the hitachi unless your console is banned though.

So iv been looking about and iv found the same model DVD drive on dealextreme for £20 which seems a good price if it means im less likely to get banned for having the wrong drive..
So do I just not need a connectivity kit for my drive or will I need it if I want to flash to another liteon drive not my old hitachi
Thanks and Soz it’s a bit tracker then the Hitachi drives I’m used to :(
PS: thanks solar I had a look at the kit you mentioned but it’s sold :(

just run 2 different drives mate. i have an extended dvd power cable and sata cable coming out my xbox and just swap the drives over with liteon to go online (unflashed) and my hitachi spoofed and ixtremed for offline use. You will never get banned ever and its worth it

Actually that's entirely the wrong way to do it if you are looking to divert a ban but OK.

You would be better looking on ebay as opposed to DX as some of the drives out of China can be a bit dodgy or more difficult to deal with and there is no LT for Hitachi so I would strongly advise you against it.

For the CK, try modtraders.co.uk and use voucher code xs10off.

look dont talk about things you dont know about.. ive been running this set up a over a year.

here the a similar thing from team xecuter http://team-xecuter.com/xdrive/ its the solution to not getting banned. dont go online with a drive that modded.. go online with original firmware box. easy

youll still need the probe and CK to get the key no matter what and then put ur key on the new firmware for what ever replacement drive ur using and then flash it to the new drive,,, if it was a sammy or hitachi u could have just swapped the internal pcbs from the drive then flashed the new one but its not the case with lite-ons and benqs, at least not without a we bit of soldering

as for using older firmwares or being safe from online with any firmware or by any method is a matter of bedate,,, i had 2 there in november,,, a 3 month old jasper with a lite on running latest firmware and it got hit, wer as my launch console running 1.51 on a hitachi-LG is still going online and was used all the way through every banwave and its now my main console untill it gets banned or breaks down for good,,,, and as for the new iX-LT we shall see how long it lasts, it might well be the safest firmware yet but thats assuming ur running retail games on it,,, 1byte of info wrong on a game rip and u could be caught,,,, Bottom line, only microsoft know the answer and we all know the risks wen we do this

on another note, ive a spare lite-on 7450 here id do for 20 or if u wanted u could post ur drive over and ill get ur key for you and flash it to the replacement drive and post back, u only need the to get the key from the 7450's once n as long as u keep it u wouldnt need the probe ever again
