Hia there, I have a PC with the following specs:

AMD Athlon 64 3700+
1gb of RAM
ECS KV2-Lite motherboard
60gb HDD
9800XT 256mb
Wi-fi card

Would I be able to get a laptop of a similar spec? Especially graphics-wise.

Graphics depends what games you're thinking of playing & at what settings. These days something similar to a desktop 9800XT, laptop-wise would be a 8600M GT / Mobility Radeon HD 3650 or better I think - the lists below should give some idea.

Laptop GPUs at Notebookcheck: comparison list here & benchmark list here.

What I mean is if I trade the PC for a laptop on here, would I be able to get a lappy with similar specs.
#7
Lol I see!!

Absolutely categorically not!

The PC is worth MAYBE £150(at a push) - the similar specced laptop would be certainly over £300.
#8
oh i though you ment could you buy one with them specs
#9
Anybody have a dell vostro, I've seen some sell for £150 on here.

Im writing this on a Vostro now, with slightly less specs than your PC(graphics wise anyway). Trust me when I say its worth a minimum of £250, and the graphics are what will push it up to the £300 mark. If youve seen a Vostro of those specs go for £150, can you link??? Want to see what idiot would do that!

Ones with Sempron 3600+ 's?

Vostro 1000 series.

Not exactly any good for games probably though.

I've just bought a laptop, got it from the refurb section on Dixons website.
It's an HP Pavilion DV9000 series (google image search that to see what it looks like, it's sexy), with AMD Turion 64 X2 CPU (Dual core, 2ghz), 2gb RAM, 120gb hard drive, 17" screen, nvidia 8400M GS graphics, DVD-RW, Wifi, 4 USB, firewire,VGA and HDMI. All for £354.99. Don't know what's refurbished about it but it's in mint condition and running perfectly so I'd recommend taking a look at Dixons yourself if you're thinking of getting a laptop.

That would be an absolute bargain at £150...

Bargain!!

Although the AMD/Sempron processor is the weak link of course...
#16
Yes, but it would be relitively similar to my CPu more than likely.

Not that similar....and with that in mind, would say I've probably overvalued your PC....
