Hi,

I have an old computer that has a motherboard that can take upto a AMD Athlon XP 3200+ - CPU. The CPU in it was a AMD Sempron 2600 which no longer works.

I was wondering if anyone had one they wanted to sell (let me know your price), I would also consider any AMD Athlon XP CPU above 2600+ or a Sempron 3000.

Thanks

I think you'll find this is for a completely different processor socket and won't work. The socket 754 was introduced after the Socket A (462) configuration.

Hi

I did not realise these processors were still popular and still capable of getting a good price.

I was given the PC and was told the 2600 processor overheated and now no longer works? The person that gave me it said something about not enough 'heat' paste on top of the processor? The guy put in a Duron 900 in the mean time, so the pc runs but not very quickly. Thanks for the point though.

I will leave the £45 option for the time being and research what the prices of a slightly lower spec processor. If I change my mind I will let you know, thanks for the offer though.

no problem, and yes they are still worth a bit on a certain auction site, infact more than £45
