Lol plenty, I don't think they'll be able to be fixed by clamping I'm afraid  I have 2 and would be looking at £35 each for just the base units, and obviously more if you wanted block, leads etc

Got the original firmware. Should be easy to just open it up in FW toolbox and get the key.

edit: (and sorry for hijacking black tiger) shreyasmorjaria pm me your email addy if you want a copy of the original and custom firmware.

hmm, well, I will dig deeper for a better price on a drive, though i think any option will make it too expensive in the long run.

@ shreyasmorjaria - what is the ABSOLUTE lowest you would take for just the console delivered?

Whats the best price you've seen on a drive out of interest?

Seen the Thompson ones for around £30, still not cheap though ;-)

Did you wash the processers before applying the new paste. I haven't done it before, but my my friend did it and worked first time.
Whats the absolute minimum for one console only, delivered. I only want to try and besides they're faulty.:)

where was that>>?

Seems it may be cheaper to buy a fwerked 360 justs for the drive. not sure yet though. all up in the clouds at mo, just checking it all out, no point in spending the time and money if a second hand one can be bought and modded cheaper that actually works.

Lol, wash? Please don't 'wash' the processor, you need to remove the old paste using a sturdy piece of plastic or card and some paste solvent like TIM clean.

Yeah did it all properly, used silver thermal paste etc, I've done loads to be honest and all working, but these 2 were'nt having any of it. I would'nt take any less I'm afraid as I can get £35 for them all day long on the market

I came across them on google while I was looking for somewhere that offers a flashing service (ooh er missus) (still not found one cheap lol anybody help?) there was a UK company who had them for I think £32.99 but currently out of stock, then a US one that ships to UK here: http://store.videogamecentral.com/xbx05642.html works out around £30 but not sure if they charge for shipping ;-) They also have a Phillips for the same price

masterbrown, where do you get your xbox 360s?
You seem to get a lot, please tell me, I don't want a lot, just maybe one or two.
Core xboxs could cost as low as £90 in the shops now with accessories.

its only cos it known and has a proven track record, the OCZ stuff is probably the same formula from the same company, think its, "johnson and mathey" that actually make it..

Yeah I use Artic Silver, blooming good stuff, and the paste remover works a treat

I don't buy them, I just clamp them for friends etc, its just that these 2 were left here since they could'nt be repaired
Heard Marthill have some in again but not looked myself so may just be a Chinese whisper, but if they have you'll be taking your chances as you dont know whats wrong with them, although E74 and no signal seemed to be the common faults when they had them in last time

I googled Marthill and they only sell stuff in lots, so not much use to me. Do you know anywhere that sells cheap faulty xbox 360s?

No they'll sell you stuff on its own as well, provided they like you lol, its just that they only sell pallets online  in fact I don't think they sell the 360s on pallets, I'm fairly certain they pull them all out to sell seperately. Price varies though, again dependant on if he likes you, whether he thinks you'll spend with him again, what colour pants he's wearing that day etc I've known them be as little as £17 complete but usually £40 ish. You'd need to go there though they wont sell you individual items online

EDIT: Just to say though, I would'nt recommend Marthill as a place to get one, I don't buy from them as I don't trust them, I'm fairly certain they take stuff out and repair it themselves, and just sell the rubbish on, but if you really want one cheap it might be worth a punt I guess

Its fairly easy, as long as your comfortable stripping it down to the motherboard, you'll be fine
If you can though spend a little more and get one with all the leads, controllers etc, its worth doing as they are'nt cheap.
#32
Has anyone got any?
I don't mind if it doesn't come with accessories
#33
I don't mind if it's console only
