People are complaining that this game is leaving image burn on their LCD/Plasma TV's.

This alone has put a stop on me buying it for the time being, I will be looking into this further because I don't want a £1,500 broken TV off a £40 game.

They mention image tearing (ie seeing arms etc though walls), not image burn?

Sorry it was somewhere else I read it, something about the Map burning a Square box on the TV. (Copied the wrong link).

Ah ok then, will have to have a look on the internet and see if anyone else has this problem. COuld be very annoying if true

The game couldn't do that.

Why?

A static image on your screen in the same place for a long time creates image burn, does it not?

The reason behind Screensavers ;-)
#16
It can't do it because burn-in was only really a problem on CRTs because of the physical change to the phosphor in the screen. LCDs get something similar but if it happens it isn't permanent - you can fix it by turning the screen off for a few minutes and letting the crystals 'relax'. Screensavers stopped being anything much more than 'ooh pretty' about 10 years ago.

For example (if you use Windows) - how long do you think 'Start' has been static on the bottom left of your screen ? For me, on this screen, it probably amounts to literally years and if I turn the screen off, there is no image remaining.

Edit:

Oh yeah I forgot the reason for me coming to this thread was... What is the cheapest *in-store* price for bad company people have seen ? Want to get it to play over the weekend.

Thanks

Find that incredibly hard to believe!

Read up on it a bit and apparently burn-in type problems are worse with Plasmas than LCDs, however in both cases it can be fixed by turning the screen off for a bit.
