can you read the key from a liteon drive now?

yeah with a tool i'd go for the Xecutor connectivity v3... out in cpl of weeks cheaper than the maximus one too

It's out now, it's about £33 delivered in most places, I wouldn't mind getting one actually or you can just use an old RS232 adaptor and some wire which will cost you around a tenner but you will need to do some basic soldering for that.

i pre-ordered from shopneo they've told me should get it in 2nd week of oct cost £17.99 plus postage...

you'll also need a replacement drive (cough) hense this thread. and some soldering of the lite-on drive, some people recommend using a solder trace pen/paint

The price of replacement drives has definitely gone up, I sold an ms28 the other day which wasn't exactly in tip top condition, basically the laser was cack, the belt had gone and the previous owner had snapped one of the stands and somebody offered me £30 + delivery for it.

I still have a few spare drives which are much nicer but those will remain mine for now.

Are you sure that's the one by Maximus ?

I think his RRP is much higher than that I believe that it can extract the liteon key without any soldering, although I could be wrong, his early 79 passkey certainly left a lot to be desired.
