It's a long shot but hey... My dad rented this phone from BT several years ago now but lost it a while ago (think it went to the tip the last time we dropped stuff off). Trouble is, he's still paying for it and we can't cancel the rental contract without sending them back a phone. So we need a replacement phone to send back to BT so we can cancel the contract!
I was bidding on one on ebay but I forgot to check last minute so I lost out...

The phone looks like

I'll be very thankful to anyone who has one lying around and is willing to sell! Not even sure it has to be working. Could easily tell BT that it became faulty and that's why we're sending it back!

Hi, would the phone not have had a BT sticker on it somewhere? i would phone BT and just enquire what you would need to do if you lost the phone? they cant have something you havent got, or offer to cover the cost of the phone and cancel the contract. or give me BTs number i love a good rant on the phone. If you offer to pay for the phone and they still refuse to cancel i would tell them your making an official complaint as they are being unreasonable!
this may help for future auctions

You dont need to send the phone back, just ring up and say you want to stop the rental. If hes had it over a year he keeps it free, if hes had it under a year he will have to pay until the end of the year (as a lump sum on next bill)

Thanks for the link tot he scheduler, it's in my bookmarks now! I posted on the BT forums but they weren't helpful, I'll try calling them later, just worried the price of the phone will be extortionate with inflation and the like.

If that's true then that's great, more up for calling them now in case that turns out to be true!

Also, the way this thread is turning out, may be better off being moved to misc...
