Ive got a Renault Clio, campus shape, just hit 36k and had a full service that cost about 400 quid as well as cambelt change and aux belt change that was about 500 quid. Wont need doing for another 72000miles/5 Years.

Great car, high spec trim, very rare, in Blue with:

standard cd player 6 disc changer with steering wheel controls
aircon
sunroof
electric windows and mirrors
Alloy wheels
4 Brand New contintental tyres put on only done 3000miles all the same.
All receipts log book etc.
Full engine clean done a month back

Was looking to sell in a couple of weeks for around 3.5k but can do it for 3k if you are interested.

It is a 1.4 16v Group 5 Insurance. Easily gets 40mpg on the motorway etc. 5 Door hatchback, sorry for the messy format but i dont want loud typing to wake everyone up :S

Located in Bolton, Manchester and is on a 51 (2002) Plate

Some nice alfas on here: http://www.alfaowner.com/Forum/alfas-4-sale/

You can get some dirt cheap ones at the moment, GTV's are the best looking, as long as you get a well maintained one shouldn't be any problems! Although insurance is usually high on these.

Sorry matey but this is very high priced. You can pick up a 53 plate at a garage for around that price. And we all know garage prices are high:thumbsup:

Can you direct me to a Clio 1.4 Privilege for that price? That doesnt need a single penny spending on it for another 12k miles!! How much do you think its worth? Renault offered me 3k trade for it on a new shape clio but unfortunately cant afford the insurance at the moment.

If the cam belt doesn't need changing for another 72k (your words), why did you change it after 36k in the first place?

I know it varies, but my focus needs the cam belt doing every 100k(!), so why did you change it?

I said 72k or 5 years in my original post.

The reason I changed it is because Renaults guideline is every 72000 miles or 5 years whichever comes first, this car is on a 51 plate so although it had only done 36000 miles at the time the belt was 5 years old, I was advised to change it as i was told the rubber fatigues over time. Renault advise 72000 miles or 5 years which ever comes first.

Are you sure your focus has a cambelt? From what you are saying, if it needs changing every 100k miles then it must be a timing chain?

Yup ive got pictures :D If you pm me your email Ill send them over.

The car really has been really well looked after, it was my first car and previously belonged to a friends daughter who hardly used it due to living in Halls at Nottingham Uni, hence the low mileage.

Chains do need doing, or the tensioners will...not as often as belts, but chains can stretch, might jump off the gear and will make rattling sounds against the cover.
#33
Hiya, have got a 54 plate Renault Megane, it's the 1.4 Rush model (cheap to insure!). It's blue, has done 57000 miles, was looking for £3500
