Hi everyone,

Longtime lurker, first post!

I'm looking for a laptop, or netbook that is in good condition for the kids to use (primarily for internet, perhaps some gaming, but nothing new and graphics hungry!).

I'd want it to have a DVD drive, on board wireless and XP or Vista.

There is a Dell available concurrently at about £100 that would be perfect for the job, but it's sold (about 4 times LOL), so that sort of thing is what I am after - can spend upto about £130, perhaps a little more for the perfect machine...

In Fareham, Hampshire - so if you are close to me even better!!

Thanks
James

... or perhaps a Netbook (apparently the Mrs thinks this would be better?!?!?) ;)

bring on the suggestions!
Cheers!

Any interest or suggestions if I go to £150?

Cheers
James

I think a netbook will be a tad pricey - fairly new to the market being the main reason!

Look on amazon or play cant remeber which one it was think it was amazon; but had an email from them this morning about laptops from 129.99

Thanks for your help - The Acer laptop is perhaps a little more damaged than I had hoped - so will try Amazon as suggested!

Hi mate
Well I haven't been out and got anything yet, so in that respect I'd still like a look!

To structure your expectations a little however, the netbooks that have been reported on here for around £180 are looking favourite at the moment!!!

If you are still happy to provide some pics, then great!

Fair enough m8 but this is a full size laptop with a DVD drive and bare in mind the netbooks don't come with ANY optical drive at all so if you wanted that option you'd have to buy an external one. Also the one I am selling is around half that price!

Thanks for these...

I'll keep it in mind, but have my eye on a NetBook - even though it doesn't have some of the bells and whistles!!

I may be selling my Asus eeepc, it's white, 7" screen, upgraded to 2gb RAM, 4gb solid state disc, web cam, currently has XP on it but also comes with the original box and the Linux install discs if you wanted to go back to the default?
