WTD: Cheap PDA/mobile phone running WM5 and with Bluetooth

£0.00 @
Im looking for a cheap and cheerful PDA or mobile Phone, but it has to have Bluetooth and at least Windows Mobile 5. Touchscreen would be preferred but is not essential for the right price

HI, looks nice but I think it may be out of my price range! What were you looking to sell it for?

Have a look for a HTC Hermes (also called M3100, Vario 2, Tytn, V1605). Cheapest 2nd hand one at Computer Exchange is £75. On eBay they tend to sell between £50 and £90.

- can be SIM unlocked for free
- plenty of Windows Mobile 5/6 roms available
- 3G, Bluetooth, WiFi in-built
- Micro SD card slot
- slide out keyboard
- touch screen

There is a piece of software you can buy for this, that makes it function as a wireless webcam/microphone. Crazy!

Thanks for the tip, Ill have a look. I may even check out the PDA's on ebay as essentially what I am looking for is not even to use it as a mobile phone, it will be the remote for a HTPC PVR that I am planning to build.

Essentially I am planning to use Windows Vista and ive been reading up on the Windows Sideshow function that it now supports, and you can use a Windows Mobile phone and the sideshow function to work as a remote, but completely seperate to what is being shown on the screen, its really clever. So you can be watching BBC on the full screen, but at the same time you can be browsing whats coming up on other channels, highlighting channels you want to record ect all on the hand held device without changing the viewing. A bit like the Remote App from Apple for the iPhone

Shame theres no sideshow app for the iPhone unfortunatly cause thatd be ideal!

Interesting concept. First time I have heard of it.

Friend of mine uses the BT on his phone to lock/unlock his computer at work (computer locks/unlocks automatically as he approaches/walks away from his desk) - which I thought was a neat idea.

The softwares all here:

and heres a post all about it:

It does sound good, a really useful tool for a HTPC based on Windows Vista, especially iff you have the following installed on the media center:

TunerFree MCE - All the "watch again" services (i.e. iplayer, ITV player ect) in one place

TunerFree PVR - Based on the excellent TVcatchup website, a free streaming service for all the Freeview channels

I've got one of these: http://www.todopocketpc.com/imagenes/articulos/hard/09_001.jpg

It's had a new battery recently, comes with charging cradle and cables and can throw in a Bluetooth GPS receiver if you like?

Looking for £50
