I'm going away to the Gulf very soon and need a small cheap car for the wife to drive while I'm away. I'm looking for something small engined (1.4 or less) and must be £300 or cheaper. Taxed and MoT'd if possible. I'm near Banbury so something in the West Midlands or Oxford way is good.

Something like a 106, Fiesta, Corsa, Citroen AX or similar.

Thanks in advance for any help, I've looked everywhere and everything I've found have either been sold or just too expensive.
Shipping/Payment:
I'll come to you as long as your close.

I used to have an AX as a company car - just lean on the bonnet and it bends.! Very flimsy. Also beck wheels tended to drift on roundabouts in the wet. It was a heavy diesel engine on the one that I had, which didn't help. I wouldn't recommend the AX at all. I was glad to see the back of it.

Thanks for your advice, it'll be the wifes first car, so type of car isn't important, she just needs to be on the road while I'm away.

Try changing the title to "wanted" not "FS" (For sale) you might attact someone.......

Failing that the back of your local rag would be the best bet I would have thought

Good luck

Don't have any car to offer, however I've recently been searching for a small cheap car. Ended up with a Vauxhall Corsa and its a great little car! I can also say a Fiesta would be good too my sister had one and she loved it. Trying looking on parkers or honest john for good reviews.

Its a skoda, over budget. But it's a VW underneath and you could most likely haggle with the price.
