Got to be Nikon flash or will any type do?
Triggered remotely or for the hot shoe?

Any type considered actually.

Mate got some of these on ebay for 40 dollars with free uk delivery and remote triggers them with his canon and a set of pt04's.

Here is the Nikon version and has a dial on the back for manual power control.

Thanks for that - never would have tried one of these without a recommendation, and the feedback looks ok from buyers too. I reckon it could be worth a punt at this price, especially as I shoot mostly in available light (have a couple of good primes that don't need much). Think I'll order one of these but keep the thread open for another. Wouldn't want to rely on this as my only flash.

Rep added.

EDIT: wouldn't let me - it appears I gave you some before and must spread it around (oohh errrr)

Also the flash head swivels which is a good option.
The pt04 triggers he got were handy as they had umbrella mounts on them,

When I bought them didn't get them with the mounts , wish I had now.
They don't seem to have any listed under nikon with the mounts at the moment.

yes, saw them - and remote shutter releases (need one of those too but dealextreme is cheaper for those).

I think I'll expire this thread and see what the flash is like when it arrives. If it serves my purposes I'll buy a 2nd as a backup rather than splash on more expensive Nikon versions.

Thanks again - really appreciate it

Cheers, never even thought of dealextreme for shutter releases.
