WTD: Good Acoustic Guitar for a beginner

I've just suddenly decided I'm going to start learning to play the guitar. I know nothing about them so I was wondering if anyone has any good acoustic guitars for sale that would be suitable for a beginner?

Anything in the Essex/East London area would be good so I can pick it up.

Cheers

No it wont, one reviewer is saying the action is to high. Stay away from guitars with the strings high of the fret. It hurts to hold them down and is offputting for a beginner.

Best advice is goto a quality Music store, talk to the staff and try out a few first, May need to pay somewhere around £50 for a nice accoustic.

Epiphone AJ100 or Fender CD60 are both good beginner acoustics, had for about £90 from a good music store, alternatively something like http://www.argos.co.uk/static/Product/catalogId/1500001501/partNumber/5400674.htm would do you alright.

I can really recommend the Yamaha from argos. I got mine 15 years ago, i've only just felt the need to replace it. It's a great guitar to start with.

If you are patient and you don't want to fork out quite that much, keep an eye out on e-bay for pickup only guitars in your area. The yamaha F310 turns up regularly (once a monthish), and you can usually pick them up for around 60 quid and they often have hardly been played. I'm from essex, and i've seen at least 3 go for less than 60 recently.

Good luck ;)
