Detailed specs say AGP 8x (Intel P4 motherboards only did AGP/PCI as far as I recall).

You could also install a PCI card if there was a free slot, but AGP is recommended over PCI.

£25 delivered for an AGP 8x X800XT 256Mb DDR3? I can post pics if interested. You'll need a single 4pin molex connector (regular hard/optical drive) from PSU to run this card, & will need to open the case to find out.

I'd also recommend at least 1Gb system memory to make it worthwhile.

Sounds ok but whats all that bout 4 pin molex do i buy on or should i have one?

Open the case & see if you have one 4-pin molex connector free (btw the one in your case will be much smaller!).

On opening the case, also check the power supply (PSU) wattage. I think mimimum of 300w to run this card - it's not power-hungry.

Run Belarc or SIW to see how much memory you have.

Similar to the Sapphire you linked to - it's a PowerColor (ignore the quoted prices in the links):

Thanks, I was looking for the motherboard specs.

According to this, it "Supports the AGP 8X and AGP 4x standard....".

So things to check when you get home:
- if PSU has one free 4-pin molex connector
- if PSU is at least 300w
- optional: amount of memory you have

You could try it, but best not to take the risk. If you had a Dell 250w PSU (i.e. you had a Dell PC), it would run it easily.

Unfortunately, you need a better PSU if you want to use my card with peace of mind. Get a good quality 300-350w one (I'm using an Enermax 350w PSU to run it), or an OK-quality 400-500w one.

I'd go for something like this 450W one for £16.78 delivered (with cheapest Super Saver del).

Or, start another thread requesting one  - you should get a good enough one for less.

timothyw9;2760300

My card's better than the 9800XT, so I won't go below £25.

he said it's depending on whether he could pick up another agp graphics card soonish
timothyw9
Also depends if I find a Graphics card on the cheap on ebay or somewhere, but should hopefully find a 6600gt or someat that is SM3.

, hench why i said i might be intrested, i offered 20 quid as looking on ebay, they seem to vary from 15-27ish, where 9800xt's still seem to sell for 30ish.

OK cool, & thanks for getting back.

Btw, timothyw9 has a 9800XT in this thread - that's if the OP doesn't take it.
