Laptop has intel i5 core processor.
Comet still selling for £599.
Still has a few months of warranty
Would sell for £290 inc postage.

Hmm.. from my experience, Acer should be avoided - had a warranty claim with them and pulling teeth is easier. Took over 1 year (yes, YEAR) to get it sorted. I'd never touch an Acer again.

As you say so yourself, you had to deal with with HP a couple of times. The battery doesn't last long...I could go on...
my r17 with i5, 6gb, 640gb, 1gb gt525 was £363 del
and its true about acer's poor service, they spent 4 months trying to fix my laptop and then said they couldn't so valued it at about ½ what i had paid 18 months earlier and gave me that as a non negotiable settlement
I am aware I can get an i5 with dedicated graphics from dell and refurb, but I am not after a dell or a refub. I created this thread for one purpose only to look for an i5 Laptop with at least 1 GB Dedicated Graphics.
Model Preferred: Acer, Asus, Sony Vaio, Samsung. and no alternatives.
