I'm looking for either a very keenly priced iPad or a decent Android tablet, if anyone might be looking to get rid of such a thing.

Needs:

7-10" screen
Capacitive (multitouch) touchscreen
If Android, running at least 2.1

So what you got?
Location:
Newcastle Upon Tyne

I have a keenly priced iPad 32GB 3G - £505

It's in mint condition and comes with a leather case, let me know if you are interested.

Oh and I could deliver to your front door in person as I'm only in Durham.

Appreciate the offer mate, but it's a bit outside what I am looking to spend. Looking in the 400 at the very max range, and as cheap as possible, so I don't think we'll be able to come to a happy compromise here, sorry.

Got anything you can throw on top? I'm looking at getting another XBox 360/PS3 a LCD/LED TV of you have any of os knocking about? :)

Quad core pc hacked to run Mac OSX Leopard (basically a home built Mac Pro)?
#6
What are the full specs mate?
#7
Off the top of my head:

Q6600 processor (Intel Quad Core 2.4Ghz, overclockable to 3Ghz easily)
2gb ram (16 gb max)
Gigabyte G31m-S2L motherboard
500ish gig hard drive
Either 512mb or 1gb graphics (can't remember) with DVI out etc
Lightscribe DVD RW drive
2nd dvd drive

Runs OSX like a dream. I'm a photographer and use CS5 and Lightroom on it all the time without any bother at all. Don't use it so much these days with having a macbook, but it's a beauty of a machine. I'd probably value it around £350 or so (the processor changes hands for around £150 still).

Thoughts? I can get a detailed spec this evening if you like?

Edit: Also includes a wired fullsize slimline apple keyboard (the newer aluminium one with the number pad) and microsoft mouse.

Possibly, yeah I've used the q6600 before, pretty good processor. From the rest of your specs, and estimating that your graphics card will be of the 3000 series ATi/7000 series NVidia, and that the RAM will be DDR2, and assuming that its all housed in a case :). I could build the same machine brand new for a (fairly conservative) figure of £280 (which I got by pricing the components individually and then adding on 10% as a rough postage cost.)

So second hand I'd be looking at around 60% of that price given the probable age of the components. (Again based on assumptions of age.)

So I'd probably value the lot at £170-180 (don't mean to offend, just being realistic).

Possibly interested, but would be looking at an additional £325 on top I'm afraid.

Hmm, like I said above, I think it's all going to be a bridge too far then. I'd be more than happy to stick £200 on top, but £325 isn't gonna happen, sadly.

The graphics card is the Nvidia GeForce 8600GT 512mb btw.

No bother mate anyway, best of luck with the sale. It's a good price and I'm sure someone will go for it.

Yeah, £200 would be too low unfortunately, I'm sure I will be able to sell it for my asking, someone already offered me the £505 for it, but I faffed around for too long deciding lol!

Am I right in thinking the epad is resistive touchscreen rather than capacitive?
#13
Any more offers?

What is your budget? It might be worth waiting till November 2nd for the Advent Vega Tablet (will be sold in Curries). 1Ghz processor (so should be upgradable to the next android version), Capacitive screen, Android 2.2 ect for £250

http://www.electricpig.co.uk/2010/10/14/advent-vega-review-budget-tablet-first-impressions/

There are cheaper tablets available from China (£100-£150) but you have to be careful on what you are buying as there is some real crap out there, tho if you're interested I can suggest one or two (I've owned a couple), but given the choice id pay the extra and take a look at the Advent
#15
Feel free to suggest away! I looked at the 7" Haipad G10 and was tempted, and the Advent Vega looks really nice too, so that may be the way forward.

7" Helipad G10, I had that one, well it was the Gpad G10 from Pandawill I bought which is the same except without the HDMI and a slighly bigger battery.

http://www.pandawill.com/gpad-g10-android-21-mid-7-inch-1080p-3d-games-multitouch-2gb-gravity-sensor-camera-silver-compare-gentouch78_p37699.html

My opinion, its a nice tablet but there were issues with the battery (standby drains the battery very quickly) and the screen, although multitouch, is resistive so if youre used to a capacative screen like an android or iPhone you may not be happy with how it works

The best tablet I had was the witstech A81-e, it has a faster processor (the same as several android phones) so andorid 2.2 is very quick, and a very responsive screen so its the best android tablet ive tried so far

But yeah the Vega looks the best at the moment if im honest, that or the Archos 101 as that wil also be £250

#17
Hmm, think I might wait a couple of weeks then and take a look at the Vega or the Archos when that finally lands. As long as I have it before the two 10 hour flights I have scheduled in December I'll be happy.
#18
Stelph do you know what the latest release date for the archos 101 is?
#19
Unfortunatly not, in sept it was supposed to be October 2010 but there has been no word since then!
#20
Cheers. It'll probably come down to either whichever comes out first, or going a bit mental and splurging on an ipad...
#21
Any more on offer?
