If it's any use to you I know that I still have a lot of law books from when I did my law degree. They will be mostly out of date now, but I don't need most of them. They're too heavy to post but if you can get to Manchester or Chester I'd be more than happy to hand them over to you for a nominal amount.

Alright good stuff. Just had a quick check and I only have the following in this apartment:

Blackstones Criminal Law statutes 04-05
Blackstones Company Law statutes 04-05
Blackstones Contract, Tort and Restitution statutes 03-04
Law of the European Union 3rd Edition, Jo Shaw (would appear to be 2000)

The vast majority are probably at my parents' house, so will come back to you with a full list this weekend because I'm heading over there anyway. Obviously the above texts are badly out of date so you can have them for free if you want them to do as you please. I do also have an Intellectual Property text here from my Masters which is more recent, but would prefer to keep hold of that in case I end up doing any IP in practice. I've also got an old edition of Archbold (criminal practitioners text that you may not have heard of; certainly the most comprehensive text for criminal law that you could ever, ever find), but realistically that may not be a lot of use to you because it is in massive detail. Plus it is expensive (new versions are hundreds of pounds) so I wouldn't be able to give it to you for free.

Will get back to you with the full list this weekend.

1.A Keane the modern law of evidence 7th edition 2008
8.Gray and Gray Elements of land law 2008 5th edition
9.Mackenzie and philips textbook on land law 2008 12th edition

last year (I understand how fast books are outdated) I did land, admin, family, sport, tort and cant remember the last.....just wondered why you hadnt asked for a land law statute book? In my exams land was the only one that allowed a stat book in the actual exam :)

wow! 4 subjects allowing you to do that! I shudda gone to your uni!!! :whistling:

will check mine in a bit for ya :)
#18
right ill list all the books I have....not sure on prices yet....will have to have a look into the prices of em :)

9.Mackenzie and philips textbook on land law 2008 12th edition (some underlining in 2 chapters)
6.J Herring family law 4th edition 2009 (dont have this edition...mine is 3rd ed published 2007!!!!) (small bit of underlining)

others covering the mentioned subjects but not asked for are

P.Murphy, Murphy on evidence 10th ed (perfect cond)
Blackstones Statutes, property law 2008-2009 (quite a lot of highlighting as you can imagine used in the exam)

I also found 'key facts' books a godsend.....dont care if you dont want mine, take this as a hint....they really do dumb down every single topic, makes it VERY easy to start learning, for example when you start a new subject look up the key facts to create a foundation then use textbooks to 'fill in the detail'. Also fab for revision.....the ones I have are
land, criminal, evidence, EU and equity and trusts....all pretty highlighted for revision :)
HTH

edit: arent you doint EU law?

interested in the land law textbook, and maybe the family law, just we have been advised especially in family law that the last 12-18month has been a fair change and thus get upto date ideally. Also might be interested in the murphy on evidence and key facts: land, evidence, equity.

So if you could price them up please and then ill let you know.

I have already completed 2 EU modules

ermmmm right im crap at pricing, but know Blackwells will offer me 60% RRP to trade them back in....and only got price guides from amazon.....so thinking perhaps 70% RRP +pp prices would give both a bargain? (have put 60% for the family one but kinda confused why my version is more expensive on amazon than the new one....have taken the lowest price as the 'rrp' though :)
prices found at amazon then the price I would sell them for :)land £25-£17.50, fam £30-£18, evid £28-£19.60
key facts are rrp's £6.99 and arent highlighted as much as I thought, infact E+T isnt at all! would be £3 each for them :)

not sure bout P+P....will obviously be at cost but not sure how much it would cost, If you want them could pay for the books, ill post them then you can reimburse me or something? Can sort something out

se what you think :)
#21
Right well i can get Freeman understanding family law 2007 for £17.50 from amazon and thus £18 for a more upto date book...so think i will take that route for family.

Also i can get these from amazon:
1.A Keane the modern law of evidence 7th edition 2008 - £23.97
2.A Choo evidence 2nd edition 2009 - £22.79
So id prefer to pay out £3-4 more (and no extra in postage) and more up to date.

For land £17.50 i will take please and ill take these key facts:
land, evidence, and equity and trusts @ £3 each

So £26.50 + P&P? Would you do £30 including postage please?

Cheers for the offer of the others however, and i know how it is as they are specific books and get outdated very quickly!

OK...ofcourse I forgot to look at the RRP's of the other possibilities of books for you, the Land and key facts books will be fine at £30 delivered

said i was crap at offers lol! erm, thinking it would be easier for me to bulk send things to you....rather than making a trip to the city centre for blackwells, as the fam book is last edition would you be interested in £13

The evidence book is 2008 so not that old...although have just googled and found an 11th ed....didnt know
about that! erm would you consider £15?

would equal £54.50 for all and would send for £60 (more books is going to weigh more)
Otherwise happy to deal for the land law one, and the 3 key facts books at £30 :)
#23
oh and lemme know if you want any info on the blackwells property law book (if/when your uni lets you know) :)

No chance of doing then all in for £57.50 delivered? Then youve got yourself a deal
And delivery should be no more then £7 through a courier anyways, using:
http://www.hotukdeals.com/item/526799/cheapest-courier-next-day-delivery-?page=2
should only be £4.90 after quidco (£6.90 before).
