I have a SFF PC to build and am in need of a LGA775 Pentium D or Celeron Processor.

Have cash ready and waiting, or can trade some DVDs/PS2 Games, maybe even 360 Game or HD-DVDs.

See first post for what i am after, cheers.

would of thought you would want a 533 chip, the d designation doesn't necess mean it's 800mhz, most of the celeron d chips are not, do you mean dual core?
I have a 325 dual core but they are all damm hot chips, can suck lotsa watts under load what size is this case?, to go full prescott or higher, you will need some extreme cooling system.

no the d does not, but i had a p4 d before a prescott chip (not in this case) and ran a dream and thus i know the performance to expect.
also looking at the compatability list the celerons supported are 533FSB, and the p4 d's are 800FBS.
Im not 100% so feel free to correct me, been a while since ive been in the 'loop' per se.

What would you suggest, it is going to be running in a ez661-t case, they are cubes so small thus heat will not be wanted!
I have a larger heatsink, and another fan for it, so stock heatsink and fan will not be needed, so hopefully that will draw more heat away!

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

EDIT: 275watt PSU in it as well :s

lawllll not a chance once you get an htpc up an runnin it's a money pit, wouldn't be without it though ;)

the above celly will be a good choice, for an all rounder might be a bit lacking for hd stuff or pvr stuff depends on what you do with the disks/ram and software setup,
if it is a htpc check out the media portal software, works very nice with a remote and good forums

I have used media portal before, not bad software, yeah see i was hoping for a better processor but the small case i have already thats what it will take.
No need for pvr i have sky plus, so wont bother, but i was considering before building purchasing a blu-ray so ive got a blu-ray player, problem being dont think the celeron will cut it.
End result:
Celeron/Pentium D upto 3.6ghz
2gb ddr1 ram
Probably around 500-750gb hard drive/s
and an AGP graphics card.
