Hi all,

After a USB receiver for a Logitech MX3200 keyboard and mouse wireless set - mine has broken, and having a nightmare trying to get a replacement from Dell or Logitech. Realise probably no-one will have one, but worth a shot!!

#3
ah. i dont. guess its gone. i got countles other bits and bobs tho lol. i did find a logitech receiver from a diff model but dont know if it would be compatible.
#4
Which model?
#5
i just checked compatibility chart on logitech site and it wont work for yours. you need receiver 993-000065

logitech store
#6
I actually do have one!

Basically, I bought a keyboard/mouse set of the same model so had that receiver.

My mouse went bust so I then went and bought a new mouse and it came with a receiver too!

I'll be honest though, I don't think I'm planning on giving it away for free, it's a useful thing to have...
#7
they $10 from us store, im sure if you ring up uk logitech they will supply you at a not unreasonable cost
#8
Hey AV....what would you consider for it? Obviously wouldnt expect a freebie - but at the same time, not worth me paying much for it otherwise I might as well continue my battle with Dell/Logitech :) lol

Spoke to logitech, and they wont supply the receiver only unfortunately :x
#10
Feel free to make me an offer, taking postage into account - would prefer BT.

well that blows. dont you know anyone in the us? cos surely posting that to uk wont cost much
#12
Let me know, I'm on HUKD fairly often.
#13
OK sorry - was away yesterday!!

Errr......the max its really worth for me to pay is £5 delivered, so rather than mess about I'll just offer that.

Let me know :) cheers
#14
I just checked and I've got the full USB receiver, with the extension lead (with the stand) that comes with it. Do you want the entire thing?

It'll cost me about £2 to deliver it so for £3 I'd rather keep it as a spare as it's a useful thing to have, sorry!
#15
Is it definitely a MX3200 receiver? Mine doesnt have any of that....its just a tiny mini receiver like a dongle...?

Unfortunately not....unless anyone wants to volunteer!!! :)
#17
Yeah, when I said USB receiver, that's exactly what it is, just a dongle.

But the original also comes with an extension cable that has a USB port in it with a built in stand. If you just want the dongle, that's fine, cheaper postage, I personally use the entire thing as just a dongle in your PC permanently is prone to either accidentally being hit and broken, or just looks unreliable.

Here's a picture:

http://hi-techreviews.com/reviews_2006/Logitech_MX3200_Laser/IMG_1110.JPG

There you can see the dongle receiver and the extension stand.
#18
Ah yes sorry I get you now :)

Well I probably only want the dongle itself(lower postage) - mainly use it with a laptop anyways. Still cant go any higher than a fiver though....
#19
Only want the dongle? Postage should be cheaper then. Second class standard ok? And I presume you'll pay via BT?
#20
Yes to all the above :)
#21
Then make it £5.50 to cover postage and I can send it out Monday.
#22
Its really not worth me spending more than a fiver on at all...
#23
No problem, a fiver is fine but I'd need you to cover second class standard. If you decide to, please let me know. Otherwise as previously planned, I'll just keep it as a spare.

Thanks,

AV
#24
Fair enough....not worth me to pay a penny over the fiver including postage tbh, so I'll have to stick at a fiver all in. Cheers.
#25
No probs, if you decide you do want it, let me know. I'm more than happy to keep it, a fiver isn't exactly much anyway!

Just out of curiosity, whereabouts are you based? Might be worth a collection?
#26
Basd in Washington(Sunderland) AV - cheers for your help, its not that I dont appreciate it, just weighing up any cost as opposed to the hassle of getting one for free off Logitech :)
#27
No problem MrShed, and I'm in Midlands, too far. If you decide it's worth paying the 50p to cover the postage then let me know. That's the only sticking point. An alternative is that I put it in the post with no stamp on and it charges you at that end, £5 then is fine.

If you at all want to help subsidise my postage costs and thus have the item, let me know.
#28
Do you still have the MX 3200 receiver?
I would consider buying it off you.

Rgds,

YK

Brilliant, your previous price was 5.50 pounds by second class post, but I'm happy to pay 6 pounds for it if you send it first class post.
Happy to do bank transfer to your account too.

Regards,

That's fine, have PMed you details.
#32
Have posted this out first class as promised.

As you can see from the photo, the USB receiver you sent does not match the one in the image of the one you posted on HUKD 01-08-2008 (page 2 of this thread). Nor does it match the MX3200 receiver that I have (shown in the same photo).

I'm sorry but I will be returning this item to you as it isn't what was shown in the photo that you posted on 01-08-2008, and it unfortunately is not the matching part for the MX3200 set.

When you receive the dongle (I will post it tomorrow or Thursday), please refund the money to my bank account directly.

Many thanks,

YK

I believe that you had an incorrect dongle before and made sure you received mine that was fine, and now want to send me back the one you had before, under the pretence that it was mine. I will check it upon receipt as I know what came with my MX3200 mouse.

I also believe that this is why you were so eager to deal quickly, paid so quickly and offered me more money to cover postage, as this was a scam in my opinion.

I won't promise a refund. If you send it back to me, I will check that it is an identical item as I know what I sent out.
#36
I'm very surprised that you are now accusing me of trying to scam you, and that being a good buyer who pays quickly and behaves politely is now interpreted as being a scammer.

I am posting a photo of the serial number of the dongle that you sent me, but I can't see how that proves anything as it would be impossible for you to remember what number it was. Please note that the dongle you sent me has some black tape on it that obscures some of the information, but the model number is still clearly visible.
I have also posted an image of my invoice from Dell in June 2008 to demonstrate that I did purchase the correct MX3200 keyboard/mouse and dongle. Why should I attempt to scam you of an incorrect dongle when Dell supplied the product to me only 5 months ago? If Dell had supplied an incorrect product, I would have simply returned it and ask them for another one, instead of going through all this hassle of dealing with you.

If you post a close up of my item, I'll recognise it.

I believe this is a scam but in case I'm wrong, if you post it back I will refund you less my own postage cost.
#38
I am now posting additional evidence that demonstrate that you have made ridiculous accusations that I am a scammer trying to pass off an incorrect dongle on you.

Evidence 1: Proof that I have purchased a Logitech MX3200 from Dell in June 2008
http://picasaweb.google.com/lh/photo/6q0iaQX08VEXItFCcSA8nw

Evidence 2: Proof that I corresponded with Logitech technical support on 11 Nov 2008 when the tip of my receiver broke (prior to contacting you on 13 Nov 2008), and that Logitech said they could not supply a replacement.

http://picasaweb.google.com/lh/photo/OUwzCabEeckvBmg7kBf6Tg

There is additional evidence on the website with close up photos of the item you sent me, as compared to the broken USB receiver that is mine.

http://picasaweb.google.com/inekke.loke/LogitechMX3200Keyboard#

All the evidence on the above weblink confirms that I do indeed own the correct Logitech MX3200 desktop, and that I have been trying to purchase a replacement USB receiver for the one that broke even before I contacted you. It also completely refutes your completely wild accusations - how indeed would I come to be in possession of an incorrect dongle for the MX3200 set supplied by Dell, and why would I want to waste my time in trying to pass it off on you?

It should be very clear to readers of this thread as to who is being completely transparent and honourable in supplying evidence, and who is being unreasonable.

Just posting my PM to clarify this:

Hi.

Have received this back today and as I said, I can recognise it as mine.

I tried it and it certainly doesn't work with the mouse even though it came with it. Pity I didn't realise before, else I'd have complained about that.

Sorry for the accusation previously, was just having a hard time with something else.

If you give me your bank details I'll refund you the £6 and I hope that will suffice.

Thanks,

AV
