if you buy the parts, ship them to me, i can build it for you, install windows, install av software etc then ship back to you, i won't charge for my time either :)

you can pick a core2duo for about £40, mobo can be got for £30, windows is £35 for xp, i got a floppy drive and cd drive you can have for nothing

i will find some prices for you, and see if thats in your range

Built it yourself, all the parts only fit in one way so you can't connect them together the wrong way. There is loads of websites that has pictorials to teach you. It really isn't a hard job and should take you no more than an hour from start to finish.

The hard part is picking the parts!

budget ? best bet is a asus mobo, 3GB of ram , minimum 512MB graphics e.g 9800GS or another top end card, and a dual core, i aint got time to do one now, im off to work, but if you can gimme a budget, i can whip one up using ebuyer and scan

p.s it will cost ya £10 to send the pc case to me, £10 to send it back, for other bits, just put my addy as the address to send to,
#17
i have a budget of about £200, can this be done?

#20
your be pushed to get a high spec gaming pc for £200
the hd with xp is no use 99.9% chance windows will need reinstalling with a new motherboard
a good ish graphics card is going to cost you £100-£150

your looking at more like £350 - 400
#21
hmm okay, i aint spending £100 on a graphics card, i have seen cheap ones on ebuyer for about £50 are these no good, they are 512mb
[mod]#22
Just a quick note, can you continue any general discussion in MISC please, & just post replies in this thread regarding the actual deal request as it's currently bumping other FS Threads down.

Thanks for your understanding
#23
he is just giving me advice on my asking price which surely is relevant to the topic, its not trivial it a great help actually
#24
some one is selling a 8800gts 640 mb on here great card for £60 my advice is snap that up while he still has it
#25
where?
#26
IMHO £60 is too much for a 8800GTS. I've known of the better newer 512Mb 8800GT going for less in some forums.
#27
what do you suggest

Did a search & came up with a 8800GT 512Mb sale......

PM the member who was selling one here yesterday for £55 delivered, & ask him to offer it for sale in this thread.

Also post a reply in that thread, stating you'll offer the asking price if still available (unless you want to bargain lower).

Considering that seller has only 2 deals here (one of which apparently got lost in the post), request for the item to be sent insured & despatched first - i.e. you pay on receipt of the item. You've good feedback here & I wouldn't mind sending out first to you, but everyone is different.

P.S. Don't skimp on following any of the FS/FT rules - especially all the precautionary 'buyer' ones you're responsible for. All the best with the deal, & your search for other components

i bloody miss it now! lol... The 8300gs in my PC is pure rubbish... rock on 9800xt... (Which can play crysis and cod4 properly.... so thats something... lol :-D)

Anyway,

his current computer specifications are:

AMD Athlon 64 3700+ S939 Processor
ECS KV2 Lite SKT 939 AGP Motherboard
1gb (4x 256mb DDR Ram)
60GB Hitatchi IDE HDD
9800XT
Optiarc DVD Drive.... (SATA)
A case ryouga gave him (thanks bud) (Due to the fact that the orig case got smashed by the courier...)

Now... let me just scrap a couple of figures together with ebuyer and I'll get back to you..

Probably still a very decent single-core cpu but its best to go intel if you think of going dual-core..

btw that computer spec should enable you to play all new games at at least medium, if not high....
2gb of ram is more than enough for xp..... bla bla bla ...
