Come the start of next week I may have a bundle for sale (images not mine):

Core2Quad Q6600 G0 2.4 Ghz SLACR CPU (http://cn1.kaboodle.com/hi/img/2/0/0/71/3/AAAAApHw-oIAAAAAAHE_bQ.jpg?v=1190493877000)
4GB DDR2 1066 Ram (Kingston 2x1GB http://pcwizkidstechtalk.com/images/stories/pcwizkid/ddr2-2gb-1066kv.jpg and OCZ 2x1GB http://www.monstertech.com.br/imagens/monstertech.com.br/produtos/MEMORIA%20DDR2/ocz%20reaper/ocz_last.jpg)
Asus Motherboard (unsure which model ATM, could be a P5K SE http://www.techfuels.com/attachments/motherboards-memory/1506d1208615842-asus-p5k-se-motherboards-asus-p5k-se-motherboards.jpg)

For £250 + delivery (I may budge on the price if the offer is right, shipping to go on top)

~~

Although I am looking to arrange for the rest of the bits to make it a full PC for sale:

Case
PSU
HDD
Graphics

Probably going to add another £100 or so (depending on graphics if any included at all) for a grand total of £350 + delivery (might even settle for £350 to the door).

~~~
With the above upgrade paths are limited as it's socket 775 and we've moved onto and past the 1156/1366 sockets now to the new Sandybridge sockets 1155/2011, but you can source other higher end CPU's for the 775 socket such as the Q9550/Q9650 with a bit of overclocking to catch up to some of the newer hardware, a good graphics card with the above should serve well.
I may be persuaded to sell my ASUS M3N78-VM
Supports AMD processors from AM2 all the way up to the latest AM3 Hex-Core chips, check the link above for the CPU support list. This means you could buy a cheap AM2/AM2+ CPU and then upgrade it to a top of the range processor when you have more money. It also has four DIMMs, which is good for a MicroATX board as you can easily add more RAM without having to replace strips as you would if there were only two DIMMs.
Would be looking for £35 inc to get it to you securely in an anti-static bag, motherboard box and with a suitable I/O plate.
hi thats a lot of options to consider. wasnt thinking of a complete system as was trying to buy component by component due to being student. will have to get them to think over what they want to go.
No problem, I thought it may have been out of the budget range tbh, I'm waiting for new hardware before I can make this available just yet, it should be no longer than a week (hoping for the weekend), keep me posted if interested :)
