Looking for a Sata (not Sata2) hard drive for my kids computer around the 300gig if poss can pay by paypal thanks..

SATAII 'downgrades' itself to SATAI if needed so im pretty sure you can use either, unless there is some other reason you require SATAI ?

Yes i know there are some Sata 2 drives were you can move a jumper to downgrade it but the board is oldish so i dont want to spend to much thanks.

No, there are no jumpers needed to move, the difference between SATA150 and SATA300 is only the transfer speed capability, the newer version 2 drives are capable of speeds up to 300Mbps, older drives are capable up to 150Mbps. If your mobo can only pump out 150mbps then a 300Mbps will switch to a reduced capability mode....SATA1

sorry but this is not true the op will require a drive with switching capability, think all the seagates can do this but best to check
OP really risky if you are on a tight budget as sata 1 drives ain't been mass produced for a couple of years so the replacement may die very quickly, buy a new seagate.
