As title,
I have 1 spare sky box already, just need a card for that which SKY want to charge me £20 for, even though we have been with them for 10 years and pay £47 a month currently!

I'd also like another SKY box with working freeview card,

Both cards must work for the Free-to-air channels that are scrambled, get enough without a card but want to finish it off.

All boxes considdered as long as they are fully working.

Changed title, only a box needed now
- DudeyGeeza

GOT A SKY BOX SORTED BUT HAVE DECIDED I'D LIKE 2 CARDS ANYWAY.

OFFER AWAY!

just out of curiosity, what extra channels do you get with a working freeview card? cos i currently watch sky freeview without one..

I can also watch the SKY freeview channels with no SKY card. Just turn the box on wait a few minutes and is working.

You just need the SKY card to watch pay channels like SKY one, etc.

I have a panasonic sky box perfect working order it does have a card but this is my old sky card so unsure as to whether or not it's what you want (as posts above seem to point out that a card may not be required). Looking for £30 all in, can post piccies later this evening along with more details on box.

I spoke to sky about getting one to find out it would cost £20, I knew they go for around a tenner on here so thought i'd try here.

Now trying my current box without a card, i do get lots of channels, but there are some like channel 5 that i dont get, (not bothered about that one,) tbh, i dont know what channels are available with / without a card, the guy at sky even said that 90% of the free to air channels will be available, but with a freeview card that will cost £20, the few others that have to be encrypted will become available.

Not sure I was going to pay that much, not sure I even need the card now, maybe I should make a thread in misc for those in the know to help me out,. Will get back to you about the box though, could you tell me the model number so i can see which one it actually is, ta.

Ah, woodrowwyatt, maybe you should phone them and do this, or maybe just ask them what the situation is..

Why don't you phone them up and telling them you want to cancel the contract and tell them the reason why you want to cancel.

Also tell them you cancel it and sign up a new contract, has better deals and even £50 M&S vouchers as well.

I did this to Sky and I ended up getting a Sky HD box for free and also 3 month half price rental for my Sky Movies package.

There is no point you are paying extra for SKy if you are a loyalty customer. Just hassle them over the phone and Santa Claus will appear...lol

It's just going to be used as a freeview box but as we dont have a house aerial then it will be plugged into a spare port on our LNB, We do currently have SKY+ which i got upgraded to for free when I phoned up to say I was leaving.. lol

Does it come with a controller for that price dude?? (goto try....)
#10
I have the same box as above, £19 delivered.

Doh, I would feel like a git if i took your offer of just a quid less.. does yours come with a controller?
#12
It doesn't I'm afraid - we use that for the TV I lost the remote for. It's the box, power cable and (if you need it) the card.

Ok, no fighting guy's lol, never thought I'd get offered both the same boxes at the same time, must say as a card is only CH 5, fiver, five us and sky 3, having a remote without me having to buy one would help me more.

Give me a min, I hate choosing, lol, dont like annoying people.
#15
Ok, well I think i will take the one with the remote, just seems easier, and will be up and running as soon as i get it.

Sorry Adamo, please dont shoot me... thanks for your offer anyway.

Ok Shanecr, Lets take this to PM
#16
If you need the remote it's not even a question of which to go for. :D Enjoy it!

Does this come with the free sat card?
#19
It comes with a Sky card which allows you to view the free to air channels; I'm unsure if they're the same thing.

a sky box without a card will get ALL free to view channels EXCEPT:
Channel 5
FIVE US
FIVER
SKY 3

So as Sky wanted £20 for a card for me to get these, i chose not to get one.

yep thats the same thing. Now i got a question do u need a sky dish? i have one but thats connected to the other tv is there a way of doing something?
#22
A Sky dish for freesat? Of course, hence the 'sat' in freesat! You can use a cable from the existing dish to this box, so yes, you can. :)

as long as there is some sort of tracking, (like recorded or similar) / parcel number etc, then that will be fine m8, just hate it when things get sent, go missing and there is no way of finding it.

Cheers:thumbsup:
