I'm going snowboarding for the first time in about 3 weeks and rather than renting a snowboard and all the other bits whilst there I thought I would see if it makes more sense to get the stuff second hand as I am sure I will be going again.

So, does anyone have a snowboard and any other necessary bits that they are looking to get rid of? My friend who is snowboard mad reckons I need a board which is between 150-160cm (I am about 6 foot) and I am a UK size 10 in the feet. There do seem some good bargains on ebay, but I thought I would try here first as I trust you guys more than a random ebayer.

As I have never been before I am not looking to spend loads as the trip out to the Alps is already more expensive than I had hoped :-(

Get some practice in, I took my son to Ski Rossendale, off the M65 near Burnley, if its your neck of the woods, or Chill Factore, near The Trafford CentreChill Factore more expensive, if youve done it before, its £10.00 all day, and they sell the gear too. Good luck.

Whereabouts are you? If you're near Bucks, then I've got a Nidecker Extreme 61 Alpine (no idea what length is it, I'm 6'5" personally, so I hazard a guess it's 1m61) that's been in the garage for at least 10 years. I used to have the shoes too, but tbh, I am not sure if I have thrown them away or whether they are still collecting dust in the garage too.

thanks Quinten, unfortunately my work blocks that website link, but I will have a look when I get home. Really after anything to do with the snowboard itself and the necessary accessories, I'm hoping I have all the clothing from when I last went skiing a few years ago, although I ought to really check!

Also ViperKeith, my snowboarding friend thinks that 180cm is way too long for me..... Would this board be suitable for a novice?

ahhhh, that sounds sweet. I am very interested!!! would I be able to come round and have a look see this weekend? or sometime during the evening this week? At the moment I am more interested in the snowboard and the necessary bits for that but depending on what condition the rest of your bits on offer are I may take the whole lot.

The big F is Fluor. I know Camberley is quite a big place but I know a Keith there and thought he may have been you :)

sounds great. Any idea on a rough price for the board, binding and boots (if they fit)? As I said before, I may take the other bits you are offering but I am most interested in these 3

the board, boots and bindings would come to £170 roughly

the jacket, board trousars , googles , wrist protoctors, board bag ill price up if u want them

the board was 450 euros so its worth well over £200 and the boots were £110 new so ur getting a bargin ill be sorry to see them go

ill have to go throught all my bits when i get them down from the loft and ill look at the condition and make a more accurate price for you
