Hi guys,

Going on my first ski trip in January (good timing what with the euro etc!) and am looking to get some gear:

- gloves
- wrist supports
- ankle supports
- goggles
- bottoms/trousers (w:32 or 30 L:30)

And anything else - obviously not the actual snowboard! I have a ski jacket but thats all at the moment!

I'd say goggles are something i'd definitely be interested in!

I don't have any set budgets in mind but i definitely want the big brands - Burton, Oakley, Helly Hansen, etc

Thanks

Nick

TX Maxx is your best bet - Esp in Jan

Don't spend too much though if it's your first time - Snowboarding is typically quite difficult to pick up but easy to master if you stick with it, i'd recommend spending some time on dry slopes before you go just to get the basic techniques right...

Dont forget all the essential like the long johns too mate to keep you warm. i recommend you take some sunglasses with you too becuase when the suns shining, it can be very hard to see. Try makro if you've ever heard of it they do good deals on ski clothes.

Depends where you go really - you'll sweat your nads off in Italy / France at that time of year... Now did I ever tell you about the time I was in Siberia? -40 on a nice day...

Ebay and TK Maxx are good places to pick up cut price clothing.
TK Maxx has some good value gloves.
You may want to take some decent sunglasses with you and don't forget some sun block. Even in January when its well below zero the sun can burn you quickly with all the reflection off the snow.
May be worth trying to borrow some stuff for a first time though - its only for a week after all!
have a good one

Thanks for the advice Charlie! It is just a week but i will be moving to Norway in the near future so if all goes well i should be doing it on a more regular basis! Good shout about the sunglasses...not sure if i need special type or standard?
