Hi I'm looking for a XBOX iXtreme dvd firmware modding service.

I don't mind posting to a site that other people have used and can recommend or if anyone lives locally to Leicester and can do this let me know how much.

Hope i'm not breaking any rules asking for this but would rather get this done by somebody recommended or local than a random website.

Thanks for any input.

fwibble does it

you cover the costs of sending it and stuff of course, but check with him, as he may be busy.

Oh make sure you have an appropriate DVD drive in your 360 - Lite-ons are a no go..

Games World do it. Costs about £45 which includes courier pick up and drop off

Exactly, USE FWIBBLE! At least it will be in the hands of someone who gives a poo about not breaking something.

But again, make sure you have a drive that can be modded before sending, as that may be a little embarrasing..

Thanks all for the replies. I have a Benq VAD6038. Opened it up to check for sure. I've read that this is flashable?

Cheers

if its definitely a benq then yeah its flashable, another way to tell is to remove the faceplate and under where it says 360 on the drive plate there is a hole, if you look in there, there may be a wire

yellow wire = lite-on (drive is readable, can be replaced with other drive then dumped... expensive)
white wire = Benq flashable
red wire = toshiba/samsung flashable
metal plate = hitachi flashable

Yeah the wire is white.

Hey dude, have you done a lite-on before? I've read about the process, soldering, needing chip etc to read the drive, then it's chuck that and spoof a flashable one.

just seems a bit out of anyones range.. Will a special chip always be needed?

erm some team has made a reader pcb thingy magic - yes thats the technical term!

which enables you to extract the key from the drive, its all on xbox-scene.com

im interestedin getting mine done, but was under the impression the new premium 60 gig was a no go. But looking at the wires described above, i can see two in the hole, both white, would this be right? I thought mine was going to be a lite on, almost for sure?

the 60GB ones should be a lite-on, though i suppose you may have been a lucky boy and got an older machine with the new 60GB whacked on it. Like last warehose stock or something.

What is your manufacture date?

26/6/2008 - any help?
#20
i would have thought it would be a liteon really...

definatly should be a lite-on

My brothers Elite is 5/5/2008 and is a benq, my m8's is 14/5/2008 and is a lite-on, so i would have thought anything after that should also be a lite-on, but there is nothing to say that yours didnt come from a different factory where they had larger stock and just used the remaining benq drives.

Why would you want to ruin your warranty so soon anyway? (personally i'd flash it regardless of warranty) the money you save from "cough, cough" having it flashed will out weigh the cost of replacing it if it ever went wrong.

Fwibble you were specifically told back in July that you were not allowed to do this.
