Another 100 free listings - and this time there's 4 days to use them, so you can enjoy the weekend weather and still have time for ebay !

Look's like they've finally realised that a measly weekend of 2 days isn't enough time for an average seller to use all of them.

Just checked and I've not got them... probably another account specific offer.

Still I guess it's hot for those that have.

Ebay really seem to be enforcing their idea that all sellers have to be professional, even when a private seller - too many neutral or negative feedbacks, as well as low ratings, problems with returns etc, are all affecting a seller's ability to take part in these listing promotions....... and of course the guarantee that you'll get your money back has opened the floodgates to all sorts of crooks claiming stuff hasn't arrived and getting a refund, when they actually received it !

Anyway, I'd be interested to know why people are voting cold - have you found a better way to sell ?

Not sure why people vote cold just because they either don't like eBay, or the deal is no good to them. If you are selling on eBay, this makes it cheaper (although still expensive), so voted hot from me.

I've had an email invite for 100 free listings expiring midnight Tuesday with the proviso that 3 photos are uploaded per item. That's a new one.......

My daughter uses Gumtree = No FEES

Ebay is getting to greedy you have (1 Listing Fees (2 Seller Fees (3 postage Fees (4 PayPal Fees All just to sell an Item

When i said postage fees i mean Ebay charge apart of the postage to the Seller even though the Buyer pays for the postage.

I like gumtree for local sales. I swear ebay bought gumtree to make it the fraudulent cesspit it is becoming to make people go back to ebay for the perceived safety and convenience at a price.

I have given up with ebay now its too much hassle

You dont 'need' to upload 3 photos to list, it just means you 'can' upload 3.

No, the wording is: "£0 insertion fees for listings with min 3 photos", so it has to be 3 or more.

They had to start charging commission on postage, as some sellers were asking 20p for an item plus 20 pounds postage, to avoid paying as much commission - ebay is a business after all, and has to make money.

Many sellers seem to feel that what has killed ebay is the emphasis on refunding money to buyers, so it is now a scam artists paradise where buyers can claim things have not arrived or are faulty, then get a refund and keep the goods !

I sell collectables, so it's perfect for me, as I get buyers from many different countries which doesn't happen with gumtree I believe.

No they didn't have to charge for postage if that's the reason they gave its just a poor excuse to make more money
eBay have put in place that you can't charge what you like for postage also its up to the buyer if they want to pay or not if not don't bid its called having a choice

I myself have been using eBay since 2003 never had any scams but have had a few none payers
If you send item's signed for then it stops people saying they have not received the item because you will have proof that you sent it
I always send signed for
I also send free post to get round eBay taking a postage fee
I also stick to my last post eBay are getting to greedy and that's why people are going to other places like Gumtree to sell stuff.
