they don't ask for your phone number its literally just...
1 - How old is your boiler?
2 - When is your home insurance renewal date?
3 - What date is your insurance due?
4 - What is your homeownership status?
5 - Are you also a landlord?
6 - Last 11 digits of your nectar card

Im guessing by asking these questions they can either sell you boiler, landlord and home insurrance, they pwill get your address via the necter card you provided. Does say on the t&c data will be used for marketing purposes. Why would they give you free points otherwise?

Depends how much info you give out.
A lot of cold calls, and Internet sites hosting info. get it from the electroral roll (sold on by the government no doubt although they'll make out it was obtained freely).

The next lot is from CV.

The last call is actual companies because they're more closely bound by data protection and their privacy policies.

Exactly, but people either don't care, or are too ignorant to notice.
