My daughter went to woollies today to get herself a tree for her room, when I checked the receipt tonight she had been charged 1p. However she also used the 20% off voucher and it deducted the 1p!!!!

please be kind, my first deal

A 20% off voucher was used for something that was 1p?

They round down prices when it's a point-something of a pence after a discount.

Thankyou for taking the bait and writing some lovely english. :whistling:

Bully, thanks for your interpretation of rasanh's post. I did think it was that. I don't think HUKD is the place for Muslims to be having a "dig" at Christians, and vica versa. I'd be horrified to see some HUKD users having a go at Muslims or Islam if there was, say for example, a post about a bargain prayer mat.
And, a christmas tree is not really to do with the true spirit of Christmas, it's just a bit of fun decoration. The kids like it. I'm sure that there are similar things done around Eid - you know decoration, body art etc. Anyway, in the spirit of Christmas I wish you a very happy one and a happy and peaceful new year.

I bought 3 lots of 100 lights (200 of them were blinking ones) on 3 for 2 yesterday and used the 20% voucher and they cost £6 - bargain! The guy gave me the voucher back so I just gave it to a woman who had bundles of stuff for her grandkids, pay it forward and all that :p
#33
Wil this 20% work with gift vouchers ???
#34
this doesnt make sense - is it a national deal, ie. you can just walk in and get a 1p (or free) xmas tree?
Or was it a mistake by somebody at the OP's local store?

Woolworths are no longer selling gift vouchers, and if you already have gift vouchers, yes, it will work with them. The cashiers will also give you cash change rather than gift voucher change.
My local woolworths advised me to "spend them as soon as I can" as they don't know how long Woolies will be open for.

Not available at my local store. I tried it with the voucher today and it came to £4.00. The tree was £5 and 20% discount brought it down to £4. Didn't buy it in the end. I think it was either a glitch on the system at the particular store.
#37
Yup, same here. Bloke also said voucher use-by date likely to be extended.
Maybe the checkout person thought they'd give the kids a freebie seeing as how they're probably going down the tubes. That's the spirit!
#38
bought 3 more today and all were 1p each, then had the 1p deducted

we left one box on the shelf :)

was maidstone store, so possibly a glitch

deffo not expired tho!!!
