Different code to earlier submitted offer

LFZZ98765
- tigger147

Be careful not to change your deal once you register, as this will automatically start your subscription and they will start charging you.
I did this by mistake, before my account was activated. The customer services are very poor as they will not allow any flexibility they will refer to their terms and conditions and stick to them, which is fair enough I suppose.

Did you have any joy getting your money back in the end tigger?

I did exactly the same, and ended up cancelling my account 2 weeks into it for fear of getting charged any more after they took £22.09 from me, literally minutes after I signed up & got a bit click happy in the control panel.

Despite my pleas to get them to undo my changes, they continued to quote their T&Cs which, although they are now situated on the package change page, they are at the bottom, cunningly below any buttons you click to proceed! i.e. easy to miss!

Use the trial by all means, but don't expect ANY level of customer service if you ever run into problems.

Here's some tips:

If you come to the end of your free trial and don't wish to continue, cancel your account online AFTER 10pm
I haven't tested this theory yet, but it's worth a shot! If you want to cancel your account, do it online from the control panel AFTER 10pm. Before 10pm, it will just display a telephone number to ring that takes you to a foreign call centre, probably at some cost to you (I haven't checked my phone bill yet!). Unfortunately I heard about the 10pm thing after I'd rung and cancelled!!

Empty your DVD list when you cancel, BEFORE you send your last DVDs back
I have read stories of people cancelling, sending their last DVDs back in time before the next payment date, and LOVEFiLM sneaking the next batch of DVDs out to the customer and taking another months payment saying they had DVDs in their posession. Emptying your DVD list means that they don't know what to send you, and you can't get snagged by that trick.

They do have many happy customers, but they've created a lot of unhappy potential and ex customers too.

Use the internet to do your research before deciding to go beyond a free trial with this company!

Did not manage to get my money back, when I changed my account by mistake.
The customer service representative laughed at me when I told her the reason why I was leaving.
Lesson Learnt= READ TERMS & CONDITIONS
Lesson Learnt 2= LOVEFILM & TESCO DVD RENTALS are the same, I'm going for the Easycinema their customer service can't be much worse

Posted a while ago I know, but I'm wondering this right now too (I'm about 1 month into my 3 months free :)), and if yes, how exactly does the Download to rent work?
#15
Well, from looking at it, you have to pay a wee bit extra to download them, a few pounds a time.
#16
Is this a trial for new users, in other words, will someone else ;) have to sign up?
#17
Woo worked on my old account, just as mymoviestream was finishing to, which by the way has an excellent service.
#18
No you get charged for the download and or games if selected
#19
Thanks for that!
My credit card expires before the 90 day is up so no chance of getting charged by accident!
:p

Games come under the combination offer for £14.99

The other offer was 2 at atime which was £12.99 for just dvds ...

Or did I assume wrong.

No, you are correct :)

I signed up this morning, entered the code and at all stages of the sign up had a box on screen saying that it was a 90 day free trial. As soon as I confirmed my credit card details and finalised the sign up - it changed to 14 day free trial. Immediately rang to cancel and was told that I had entered a code for a 14 day trial only, and that this couldn't be changed as it was the deal I'd joined up with.

When I insisted they cancel the account, the guy put me on hold to check something remarkably he came back to offer my the 90 day trial as a goodwill gesture - even though that's what I had applied for!! :?
