T&C's say:
"48 hour test drive available at participating Lexus Centres only. Subject to vehicle availability. Applies to selected models at the discretion of the participating Lexus Centre. Drivers must be aged 25 and 75 years old and have a Full UK driving licence for over 2 years. Terms and Conditions apply."
(Think that also included sumthing about no convictions in the past 3 years and no more than 200 miles driven in the 48 hours. Insurance is covered by Lexus if you meet the above T&C's).

will they take in a P reg Vauxhall Astra in exchange and believe i have the dough? lol

As already said, whats the insurance terms if in an accident, not just caused by me or if hit by uninsured driver etc.
#8
You will be comprehensively insured by Lexus but the excess is £250 if I remember rightly so yes, you will be down £250 if you damage it and it's your fault. Although saying that they don't take a deposit like a rental company would.
#9
booked, wanted to give the 220d a go... still love my skoda though!
#10
Fantastic, will give the lexus a run out.
Probably the IS250SR model.

Probably a little more comfort than my 58 Honda Civic Type R GT !!! :)

Thanks OP

I thought the 250sr was impressive. And Lexus treat you like royalty:thumbsup:

Have you done this test drive then ?

Is it as easy as it sounds? Do they request to keep your car at the dealership while you test drive theirs ?

Yes I've done it. You will get a call asking what vehicle you want and they will confirm the dates available. I went in and left my car there, they take a copy of your license but don't take any card details. I don't suppose you have to leave your car with them, you could always say you have a named driver on your policy that isn't old enough to meet their terms and you need to keep your car for them to use. I'm glad I left mine with them though, it was nicely washed and hoovered for me, all compliments of lexus:thumbsup:

Nice one.

Not keen on leaving my motor with them but cant see that being a problem.

Did you have the car over a weekwnd or for weekdays?

Sounds a great offer either way, thanks :)

just the job :)

'25' is a number insurance companies love to use when it comes to anything motoring these days!

2 years away from this deal but hawt for those who can get it.
#24
It's the sacred "25" when it comes to motoring. Comprehensive cover doesn't even allow me third party on other cars, which is what I'm waiting for. I'd love a free test drive though. Just need somewhere to drive it. Perhaps organise a quick date to impress...
#25
How long is this offer on for?
#26
Put my request in 3 days ago and no response as yet.
#27
I signed up, although I dont think I have the bottle to take a car for 2 days, just to then tell them that I can only afford to buy one of the wheel trims

You mean alloy wheels:w00t:

Thing is lexus say they WANT you to enjoy a 48hr lexus experience.

Who am I to argue with them!
#29
scrap it
#30
is there any people that let you test drive a car unlimited milages
#31
still no communications from Lexus. Blimey thought in this time of uncertainty they would be anxious to line people up for this! If its an indicator of dealer service then I'll definitely stick with Skoda!

The top end of the market won't be affected by the economic slowdown as much as the lower end. A Lexus salesman would probably have about a target of 5 cars per month on average to sell, where a Ford salesman will have around 20-30. People with money will always have money. I'm also not surprised Lexus haven't contacted you. After this being on HDUK they've probably had a lot of inquiries and as a result all their demos are out on loan. They can't offer you something that isn't there and if I was a sales manager and recently had a huge demand for 48hr test drives with no one doing a deal I too wouldn't be too keen to loan them out.
#33
Damn!...the age group is 25-75 and I'm only 22...I wonder if they'll make an exception seeing that I already own a new Mercedes-Benz ML lol...really wanted to test a the RX400h with it's hybrid engine.

BAD NEWS GUYS AND BIRDS.

Just received a phone call from Lexus and they said you have to arrange an appointment to speak somebody with regards to possibly purchasing a car. Then spend god knows how many hours chewing the financial fat and then once you’ve woke up from being hammered with numbers they will then consider offering you the car for a test drive...no mention of 48 hours mind.

If you fancy going the whole hog and blagging your way into having the car for 2 days be my guest but the thought of spending a few hours talking **** isn’t up my street. I don’t even want the car I just want to drive one for a few days. Too much hassle and for that reason I’m out

I received a phone call today, very polite gentleman who explained how popular the 48 hour test drive had been. I told him that I was not desperate and he said he would call me back in Jan/ Feb when things had calmed down to make arrangements. Happy with that.

great thanks

Local dealer rang me to offer RX400h and said was available most of next few weeks.

However, he did mention a £10 per day cost to cover insurance and administration:?

And I should have read the terms and conditions as its mentioned but, not the actual cost!
