I'm pretty confident that over 900 people have already signed up, seeing as the article was published on the 18th November

Probably doesn't matter, this is a standard offer that comes round from time to time. I did it, got the speaker, it's ok. Probably useful to chuck in a bag and play an iPod from on holiday or something. Does need batteries though. eMusic is ok but nothing special either.

I'm gonna cancel anyway
tried to download some AC/DC and got the message that they don't have an agreement to distribute AC/DC
same with queen and others
useless
i'll try to find something that they do have, download that and then cancel asap

shame 'cos it looked a good offer

LOL

I thought it might have been me with an obtuse music preference, but then I tried to download some Rolling Stones music and guess what . . . . . . . you're right, no chance

It's a struggle to find 50 tracks to download for free before I tell 'em to shove it !

thats a shame, I got some good stuff from there. Is it all sony music stuff you are looking at? Think that is US only. Not very well publicised though!

Vampire Weekend and Prodigy for me so far :)

Just got an album i've wanted for months. Between this and the Nokia offer, I feel like i've hit the jackpot!

Edit: you can get an audiobook as well! I just got The Message/Remix for nothing! It's like £50 on CD!!!

Cancelled

couldn't find sufficient music tracks so I downloaded 3 albums from comedy genius Ross Noble

when cancelling they asked me to give them some feedback - so I did

hometruths for them but unlikely to make any difference - I'll keep you posted

I also cancelled within 5 minutes of it being registered, because I couldn't find any good music to download

Haven't cancelled yet, I plan to get 49/50 songs in case they count 50 as the start of a subscription, got the email for my address to send me the speaker so worth it either way, barely any good music on there though, I got the new hatebreed album and a couple of Cradle Of Filth tracks, H&R added for the free speaker, not particularly for the music though, the irony in that is incredible though!

They don't don't worry. I used all 50 of my songs and the sole audiobook credit then cancelled. I felt guilty about cancelling when I got offered the free speaker, but almost absolutely all the music I want isn't on it. How they have 400000 subscribers is beyond me.

Sky Songs is a way better deal IMO.
#25
Anyone got their speaker yet?

The Speaker I received was the Altec Lansing iM207

Not bad for a freebie!
