  Not true. You start with 500mb free - as mentioned in this post do what they say for more memory.
  
  I have 3.5GB at the moment, you can get up to 16GB by inviting friends (500 per referral), 250mb for a tour, 125mb for facebook, 125mb for twitter, 125mb for following them on twitter and 125mb for feedback.

  Just be careful. By accepting the Facebook and Twitter offer you allow them to post on your behalf! I personally activated it and then refused it permission on Facebook to cover myself! And they are currently offering 3GB for photo uploads on top! :-)

  Did this awhile back. Just link it, post something (twitter). After you get the extra space added, unlinked dropbox from facebook and twitter. Sorted.
