700 Tesco Clubcard Points For Free - Telephone Only

At the moment, if you call Tesco Car Insurance and Tesco Health Insurance you will get free points just for getting a quote - no obligation! Its 500 points for the car insurance quote, and 200 points for the health insurance. The points will get credited to the next statement i.e. August and best of all, there are freephone numbers for both, courtesy of saynoto0870.

For Health Insurance : 0800 707 66 33
For Car Insurance : 0800 505 555 (this is customer services but just ask to be put through to car insurance).

At the beginning of each quote, make sure they take your clubcard number. Thats £7 to spend in Tesco or £28 in deals tokens - ABSOLUTELY FREE!

do you just ask for a quote? do you need to mention the free points?

I've just done the car insurance quote and was told that I did not need to give my clubcard number as the system would pick it up automatically.
#3
hmmmmm, are you sure? what did you say when you told them you didnt want it? did u feel silly?
#4
Why would you feel silly? I always get more than one quote for insurance, that is when I actually need some insurance :w00t:

Just done the health quote and they did need the clubcard number.

Can anyone else confirm that the clubcard number is not required for car insurance?
#5
i think just knowing im not actually going to go for it, i do get embarrased quite easily - and now thinking of it makes me feel worse!!!!! stupid i know!
#6
I phoned up... went through the 1001 questions only to find out they wouldn't insure me on my car because I'm not over 21!

Apprently I still get my points though. FYI I did have to give her my clubcard #

Added as hot/rep etc. Thanks! :D
#7
Ive already got both - and both seemed to give best value for what I wanted. Shame there were no points at the time :( - Bet it excludes current customers!
#8
can someone clarify if you have to mention the free points or they just do it automatically?
#9
I just tried it, they said you need to call an 0845 number which is chargable at local rates.
#10
Yeah i would mentioned the free points offer from the start - although both people i spoke to for each quote were fully aware of the offer
#11
isnt it taking the **** to ring them up and make them think you are genuinely interested in insurance, when really you just want some c-card points???

No Way! Its perfectly legit, and Im sure they half expect it. The thing is though they must be very confident of how competitive their prices are, because they are probably counting on people being "pleasantly suprised" with with quote.

And even if they were originally only calling for the points, they might change anyway!
#13
Hi again

I just called tesco car insurance, and the guy I spoke to said you had to TAKE THE POLICY to get the points!I questioned it and he was adament!

Someone please clarify!
#14
ive got the points for the health ins, many thanks, waiting for answer to above post b4 trying for the car ins!!
#15
have just phoned , did the health insurance over the phone confirmed 200 points will be added, when i phoned re the car insurance was told i could do it online and as long as i put my clubcard number in i would still get the points, i made sure he checked this and took his name in case of problems if points not loaded, so if your too shy to phone do it online.he confirmed 500 for quote only.

can i ask the preson who put up the original post how did you find out about this offer because i cant find anything anywhere about it
#16
I just phoned for a quote, they didn't need my clubcard number.

The price was more than double (24, male, 4 years no claims) what I've been quoted through the Post Office though, with a lot more excess!!
#17
I got both offers from the front covers of leaflets at the checkout by Tesco in Southend on Sea. It is 500 points FOR THE QUOTE for the car insurance and this was clarified by the guy on the phone.
#18
No problems at all with the health quote & points being added (although the quote was a bit high for my family).

I'm on the phone to Tesco car insurance as I type ........ the person I'm speaking to knows nothing about the points, has checked with his supervisor, who also says he knows nothing about it. I've asked to speak to the supervisor and have been put on hold.........

Couldn't get the free phone call either, as I was told to phone an 0845 number.

Have just now had the blokey come back - the offer IS ON for the 500 points, another supervisor has just told them, but it is so new that not all the phone handlers are aware of it.
#19
PS. for both the car insurance AND health insurance quotes, I was asked for my clubcard no.

I think if they don't ask for your number they may be fobbing you off. I'd ask them to read my clubcard number back to me at the end of the call if they said they didn't need it.
#20
as usual it depends who you speak to - i was quite lucky as both people i got to speak to were aware of the offer
#21
I just rang back and spoke to a very nice lady and she took my card number and has activated the 500 points immediately no problems.

The first rep I spoke to was called "PHIL" - avoid this one.
#22
Good find this cheers! Would be awesome if they give me some competitive quotes (probably not gonna happen!) :)
#23
POints are a good bonus but the Car quote was Crap! Nice One!

Thanks for sharing this info. got 200 for medical quote. 500 for car insurance. the 0800 number for car insurance (customer service number is fine.). they first asked me to call a 0845 number but i told them i was holding for 30 mins and it costs money and then she transfered me to the car insurance. I called the clubcard they confirmed 700 points will be added in 10 days.
#27
got my 200 health insurance points

Car one has been a nightmare so I've given up...:x
#28
Few questions:-

Can you get a quote online and still get the points?

How long do the calls take?

Do they ask if you want to take up the policy there and then, or offer to post out the details?
#29
Got a quote from tesco for the car insurance, i mentioned the points from the beginning and at the end of the quote I asked the guy if he wanted my club card number, he said they would allocate it based on my name and address.

Was he bullshi**ing me or do you think he was genuine?, quite happy to ring up and kick off if neccessary :viking:

We phoned for a car quote last night, they were a little unsure about the clubcard points but did take the card number. The quote however was nearly twice the price we are currently paying with a huge excess.
#31
i was told yesterday when i did the car quote that if i did it on line i would still get the points but the impression i get is that its for phone quotes only can anyone clarify this?
