Be sure to cancel the plan near the end of the subscription if you want Music Key.
YouTube Music Key won't work on cancelled plans.

Is this for anyone or only chromecast like last time?
#2
For anyone as far as I can see

Any idea when this "special offer" ends?

I've been a subscriber before and it's worked fine for me it seems.

Thanks! :D

Don't make the same mistake that I did on my last trial. If you want Music Key, cancel your plan near to the end of the free trial.

A decent offer, but always annoys me how you always have to hand over card\payment details to access or take up this "free offer"!. Whats wrong with giving a free offer or trial without demanding payment details?. Sure, they might and often say if you wish to continue after the free trial you might forget to add payment details before the trial end, yeah right. But that works the other way to in that people might not want to continue after the trial and forget to cancell the payments for something a person does not want or the cancell request in not received which i,ll guess happens quite often with these things.

Playing devil's advocate...

Google is a business, so of course they are going to use the best method to try and extract money from their customers. I know that if I was in the same situation I'd do whatever is most likely to turn the 'free' access period into a sale, or at least be able to get some return on it.

Same model is used for other services of this type, 'enter credit card details for your free trial'. Its an industry standard.

How do you cancel when the time comes, is it nice and straight forward to do?

just canceled a few days ago. just open the app on your phone and obs of the options takes you to the cancel subscription. painless cancellation procedure. I prefer deezer 10£ unlimited devices subscription as 32 million songs and app is miles better than Google or Spotify or Jango or blinkbox or Bloom fm. flawless streaming from deezer but more expensive. Samsung devices used to have 6 months free. It wasn't advertised widely and only found out accidentally that I had 6 months free and liked it enough to pay for it later.

Deezer isn’t available in the US, so artists only available in the US wouldn’t be available on Deezer. Also, as tracks are licensed on a country-by-country basis, it’s difficult to tell how many tracks a user in any given country has for each service.
Its personal preference at the end of the day . i have tried Deezer but went back to Music unlimited

How did you get this? it doesn't work for me, says error processing coupon, only available to new users, the 90 day trial with Chromecast didn't work either. Feel kinda cheated I settled for a 60 day trial now that 90 seems to have become standard...

Thanks, been waiting for something like this

I can't get it neither as I once paid for the service. I prefer play to spotify but £5 spotify is a sweetner.

Just as a suggestion you can get Deezer free for a year with a Sonos Play 1 then sell new on ebay easily & quickly for £150. £150+ £120 (Deezer cost for a year) = £270 - £169 (cost of speaker) = £99 up! Plus with John Lewis there is a 2 year guarantee.

BTW the Sonos system is awesome.

i found google play music disappointing, and the interface was poor - nowhere near as good as spotify in my opinion

I can't think what it was now (maybe one of those family tree research services), but several years ago a similar industry standard like stance on payment details for a free offer. Could sign up on line for the free trial period etc, but cancellation was a bloody nightmare!. I had to physically phone a call centre and jump through hoops and explain and state several times why I wanted to cancel after the trial period and why I did not want to continue with a paid subscription and how beneficial to my like a continued and paid subscription was after a trial period!. Funny how its easy to signup for many a free trial and can always be done online. But cancelling is a lot harder and often can't be done online and involves dealing with a person who gets paid to convince you at all costs why you should not cancel!.
