This sumptuous period drama is based on the dramatic true story of Caroline Mathilda, the English princess who married Danish King Christian VII in the early 1770s. Keen to be a dutiful wife and queen, Caroline’s hopes are soon dashed upon arrival, when she discovers the King’s true madness. But when she is seduced by the King’s physician, they embark upon a passionate affair that would spark a revolution
