Good post!

Keep in mind guys, you can go through quidco to get money when ordering sim cards. For example, O2 are offering 15p for each sim card you request (maximum of 4). And I believe T-Mobile are doing 50p for ordering one.

Is there a time limit on any of these? i.e. if you keep them on the shelf for a few months will they still work?

Reason I ask is that I've got a Virgin sim card at the moment and the coverage is sometimes not as good as the others. So it would be handy to be able to switch sim cards occasionally.

Good work, voted hot

Just to say that Vocafone cannot be ordered more than once per household as they log the address and no longer send repeat orders.

Normally Virgin will send repeat orders, i've had around 50.

Great post, thx

Order 2 sims for Tesco's via Quidco for
£4, tracked within 24 hours as £6, you must activate sim,
but I have been promised that the sim comes with a few pence of credit already loaded on, so DO NOT top up and it should track.

Can only order one lot per address, if you have already got some, order them through a family member or friend as it will accept the same email, a very easy £6.

what do you do with all these sims ?

No, I keep adding the credit to 1 main number so I always have about £100 of free credit, and most have £7 free on them (£5 + £2 for registering) :thumbsup:

Does anybody know if any of these cards can be used from abroad to make calls back to the UK?

Any knowledge would be appreciated please.....
#22
Don't think so. You need to hunt around to find the cheapest way of ringing the UK from the country you are visiting, in the US there are a whole bunch of ways.

I think three are the best route, see this

With Add International Saver you can make unlimited* calls to 31 destinations for £15 per month.

388 the only number you need to remember. Apart from the number you're dialling of course. Because once you've got your Add International Saver, all you have to do is dial 388 before making your international call. That's all there is to it. There's not even a PIN number to forget.

More information for Pay Monthly and Pay As You Go customers.

How do I get this add-on?:

* 3Store
* 3Store at Superdrug
* My3 (in the Add-Ons section)
* online from our Shop

To buy from the shop you will need to purchase a 3 handset and contract, then you'll be able to buy International Saver in the Add-Ons section.

PAYG customers - If you have registered a card for top-ups, get Add International Saver from:

* My3 on your mobile
* or by calling 444

I used 3 with a mobile broadband dongle (£40) put £10 PAYG on and coverted to data bundle and it worked fine with laptop in Italy and I used 200Mb of 1 Gb allowance in 2 weeks. 3 works with Skype so you could call for nothing or 1p minute.

Hope this helps.

Nick

Thanks for the replies to my questions guys. What I want to do is put a sim in one of my old phones that I can give to my little girl so she can phone me from Greece when her mom takes her on holiday there this summer. I only want to load enough money on to it for the 2 weeks they are there and not every month. Is this possible?

There may be a way of reducing the cost but calling from another country to the UK on a mobile is always expensive. Have a look at this link.

Personally I would use a calling card and dial from a land line or phone box. This one looks very cheap.

You know how when you buy a new O2 phone, you get a free download, browsing etc for 30 days, does that work on the free sim cards? If it does, this is an excellent deal, you could just carry one with you and you have free browsing.
