Alnwick Castle and The Alnwick Garden are offering a week of free entry to these world class attractions.

From the 17th 23rd May, free entry will apply to public service workers, their partners and up to two children. They can visit as many times as they like during that week, and at any time during normal opening hours.

The medieval castle which is celebrating 700 years as the home of the Percys, Earls and Dukes of Northumberland has an intriguing past, intertwined with tales of knights and heroes. In Knights Quest, children learn the sword tricks of a dragon-slaying knight.

It is a wonderful time of year to visit The Garden. Tulips and blossom are blooming, the infamous plants in the Poison Garden are beginning to sprout once again and the stunning water features sparkle in the May sunshine.

Terms and conditions: This is a regional offer applying to public service workers in the North East only.

One of the following types of staff ID is required: staff badge, payslip, confirmation from their employer on letterhead. This is necessary to confirm that you are employed in a public service in the North East.

The Garden opening times: 10am - 6pm (last admissions 5.15pm).
Visit: http://www.alnwickgarden.com for details.

I was gonna go to this on these dates but would rather not be around the Public sector workforce - all they do is complain. Anyway good luck York City for this weekend

I think they've got a lot to complain about now that the tories are back in power. I'd be taking this offer up immediately, because if Cameron has his way you might not be entitled to the offer soon.
