As mentioned in today's Guardian. They want you to register, but once you do you just get a link, so, er, here's the link!

You will need to register at Audible, though, if you're not already a member, and that includes giving them credit card details, annoyingly. Guardian's T&C says you don't need credit card details, but I couldn't see how to register and download without them.

It's also got an annoying download manager you have to install rather than just giving you the MP3. The file itself appears to be DRMed, although it does let you copy it to various devices. Still, it's free, eh? Not encouraging me to use Audible for anything else though.

Very funny clever comedian and satirist, but I've not heard this show yet. Looking forward to it, though.

Sound quality is pretty poor and the DRM and software it runs through is atrocious, so I'd only bother if you're a big Armando fan (which, thankfully, I am). Don't jump through those hoops if you're just after a freebie. As soon as I've listened I'm deleting my Audible account. Ugh!

Listening to it right now but it's going to be deleted when it finishes.

Poor quality but at least it's a genuine freebie.

I tried this and found that, before I could attempt to hear these radio repeats by Armando Iannucci (of whom I'm a big fan), there was a whole library of software that was required to download and install, particularly if you are a Windows 7, 64 bit, non-iPlayer user like me:
# 64-bit editions of Windows Vista or Windows 7 require the iTunes 64-bit installer (which won't actually install on my machine);
# QuickTime 7.6.6 or later is required (which comes with bloatware)
# Screen reader support requires Window-Eyes 7.1.1 or later.

You also have to download and install the AudibleDM iTunes program as well (Yuk!).

I spent about an hour trying and failing to get this torrential storm of Apple/iTunes software installed and gave up.
