Jump to unread Post a CommentIn case it isn't obvious, Burning Studio 2012 is naggware. It will pop up every so often (as you open the application), nagging you to buy the actual full version or other featured applications off Ashampoo.
Don't forget to log into the MyAshampoo web portal after registering and turn off the 2 news letters it automatically subscribes you to. I have been registered with them since before 2010 and do not get any spam emails on the registered email address.

Read the OP's post, during the install select custom and then de-select the toolbar/mysearch option.

The toolbar attempted to install before I even opened the .exe file.

So the install attempted to install before you even opened the installer? :{
I've paid for 10 and 11 of this (not that I paid anywhere near £35 for it mind) and it's really good software imho
Looking at what it says in the blurb it seems the 2012 edition isn't as featured as v11 which is the current version i'm using. It says you can't import video clips in 2012 whereas you can with v11 so you need something else to prep your folders to create a DVD with this (or have a direct rip of course)
I notice v11 is only $10 at the moment which is not a bad buy at all if actually creating discs from individual MPG/AVI files is your bag.

I have 10. What has 11 got that 10 hasn't ?

That's because the 201x versions are not the full paid for versions - they are the free (almost fully) functional versions. They are there to try and persuade people to buy the full versions. I use an older full version and find it fantastic, but haven't felt the need to buy a newer version, even at the very cheap rates I get offered from time to time.
Strange, may be a slightly too enthusiastic Malwarebytes? Or may be the website had an advert that Malwarebytes blocked? If you use Chrome/Firefox try installing the Adblock Plus extension for it.

I don't care much for the marketing strategies either, however I do like Ashampoo Burning Studio. Reminds me of Nero without all the clutter.
