  Avast pretty good. Usually comes near the top in computer mags comparisons even against famous paid for ones.

  How can a FREE anti virus not get hot? Do you all like viruses lol. Or you prefer crap like AVG?

  I would still avoid Avast. Too many false positives compared to NOD32 or Kaspersky. MSE is the way to go!

  NOD32 And Kaspersky are paid for anti viruses. MSE failed to find 2 viruses i had when avast got rid of them both and saved my laptop so i can't fault avast but i can MSE. Each to their own though :/

  When I updated the other day it reset my computer and then was unable to boot. Had to go into safe mode and remove avast before my computer was usable again.
  Anyone know of an alternative?
  Tried avg but it is conflicting with comodo

  MSE incl. Spybot w/ TeaTimer for me.

  MSE has let me down too many times for me to recommend it to anyone.
  So far Avast has not let me down...

  Comodo sucks IMO, Avira is also a good free alternative :D
