Don't know why this has been expired, as still available.

I use free AVG 9 and find it very good, didn't know there was a new version out.

Thanks for posting.

Why do you say that? I have been using it on a number of computers and laptops for a couple of years now and I have always found it to be very good, unlike Norton Antivirus and one or two others I tried in the past, which did cause severe problems.

AVG free doesn't cost a penny, doesn't seem to use much in the way of system resources and appears effective at finding viruses - what's the problem with it?

cos every PC I have to fix for my mates nearly always has avg free on it. Not to mention the loads of people asking for virus removal in the MISC section after AVG failed them

you wont be aware of most viruses and AVG is particularly good at letting viruses run in the background for months, if not years.

if you want free, then comodo or MSET is what I would opt for. Kaspersky if you pay.

The latest AVG download will fail to load on many pc's as it did mine, they know about this problem and will take some time to sort out. You will find that you will be left with no protection which is no good at all..............if that was to happen go for Avast.
If you get an error on installation I would suggest that you wipe off all avg files and download AVAST.
AVAST is also free and just as good if not better.

Hope this helps,

Kev

I have used AVG for many years without any problems that I have noticed, so try to update to the new one. But if it errors like it has happened to me and others don't worry just download Avast Antivirus.
You will find that the old AVG licence has expired leaving you without protection.
Avast have been around for a long time so can be trusted just as much as AVG,
