they would have to pay me to put this on my PC. Lets viruses through all the time in my experience (although users arent normally aware of it for yonks!).

Good deal, and only for today :)
Think its £26 for the year usually.
*Dell7419 & Bonnyboo22, yes its free but this is for the full version with root protection and a safe mode for gaming.
Always liked AVG doesn't bog your system down as much as Mcafree and Norton. Not sure about this letting viruses through i've used it for 3 years without an incident.

I used it for about 3 years too then put kaspersky on my pc and it found 3 trojans that AVG had ignored for 1-2 of those years!

This is FULL version which is usually payable!

If you're been using the popular AVG Anti-Virus Free for a while and wondered why you should upgrade to the commercial edition, now is your chance. The difference between the Free and the commercial edition, worth £26.99, includes advanced root-kit protection, a game mode so you can remain safe, without affecting your gameplay, phishing protection and more.

I have to say - I have now had 3 pc's with AVG installed, and each one of them had to be sent to a specialist to have the viruses removed. At the last count, despite having the full version installed, my last computer had 73 viruses on it...

Thank God I bought a Mac earlier this year and no longer have to worry about it. :-)

The reason they are bigger in size is because they do a better job... Well so other sites say.

There is no single AV product that is completely reliable and able to protect your machine from everything.
Consider it as a case of taking vitamin supplements. Reduces your chances for becoming ill but cant prevent it happening if you keep going out in the cold wet rain.

I use Avira and avast now, both free and both far better.

Avira overall slightly better protection, but Avast much lighter on resources
#13
if you do online banking with barclays you can get kaspersky free for the year.
#14
Microsoft Security Esentials is better than AVG
AVG is getting more and more like Norton for hogging resourses these days

Is this the software which is offered for free? ->http://store.v3.co.uk/p1030-avg_anti-virus_90_1_pc_1_year.. The current price is only £5.95.
#16
been using the full version for a year now. Well worth the money. I got a deal on here I think (Zavvi?) when the 3 user 1 year was £2.99
#17

Personally I would suggest Avast (always on) , backed up by Malwarebytes Antimalware - run as required!
#22
