You don't

Which is why it's available for the 360 now as Microsoft had to allow silver users to use iplayer otherwise the BBC would not have allowed it on the 360 platform

I believe it is available to Silver users too.

Free for Gold and Silver, that was confirmed last week.

Just checked now and it doesn't have a HD stream of the highlights, what a shame. HD is supported on the app though and most programmes have it as an option you can switch on or off.

So, your point is? I can name a lot of things the Xbox has that the PS3 doesn't but that is irrelevant just like your post.

Like what? Blue ray player? Free multiplayer? better HD and HD sound? better controller?

I have a Bluray player thank you, don't need a PS3 for that. Awful servers for free, no thanks. Better HD? That's why most games that come out on both consoles always look better on the 360. Better controller, don't think so. No cross game chat, no party chat. I don't want to wait half an hour to download an update for a game before I can play it, only takes 2 seconds on the Xbox, better exclusives. Kinect, even though I don't like it, it's a great bit of technology. PS3 has trophy's, I wonder where they stole that idea from :|, I wonder why they made the Playstation Move in a rush.
I have a PS3 by the way, I'd still happily pay for my yearly subscription on the Xbox. The only time my PS3 gets used is for PlayTV which is a great bit of kit.

LMFAO!! Better controller!??!?!! OMG!

I have a PS3 and a 360 and the 360 controller is FAR superior!

Free multiplayer?? IF it was any good I'd use it, but no, I don't use it! why? Because it SUCKS!!! I pay £23 a year for Xbox Live Gold and it is the Best online gaming platform by a billion years!

Better HD?? LMFAO - the ps3 and 360 are both 1080p... how is the ps3 'better'? Foolish!

Better sound? See above.

Complete idiotic post 'ohdearohdear'... jeez! I hate nothing more than moronic uneducated fanboys!

I use my Sony blu ray player for iPlayer normally, but now it's on XBox it's more handy as can switch between SkyGo and iPlayer now without changing devices. :)

at last

Lol, console nerds all in a rage. Both are **** poor.

Does anyone know when ITV Player is getting added to XBox? Heard it's this year but never saw an official date.

Can't we go a thread w/o the PS360 arguments?

PS3: 320GB Slim
Free online/multiplayer access
Built in *Basic* browser
Built in Blu Ray Player
Films/games when developed properly do look better on PS3 (compare FF13 on 360 to PS3, the PS3 has better FPS and less jaggedness on hair)

360: - 250GB Slim
Allows for Indie Devs to showcase their work (unlike Sony who sue any and most homebrew devs)
Home Theater connectivity is a lot easier to set up & manage (although my Xbox wont pick up WMC is will pick up Tversity)
Cross Game Chat

Those are my opinions and aren't biased, i wont say which has the better online service as they are both as good as each other when connected (though the 360 Wifi adaptor is pants compared to the PS3's one) And as for controllers, again i like the PS3 one as i grew up with a PS1/PS2 but the 360 controller is nice

Is this showing up in freebies gaming for anyone if you look for it manually and not from your profile/subscribed threads ?
#27
First off thanks, been waiting for this!

Second ill try not to sound too fanboy-ish as I've wanted to add a ps3 to my 360 for a while but no party/cross-game chat?! In this day and age?! So I can only chat to friends in game-chat? I can't believe that, seems very backward but then it makes sense for a free service not to offer as much as a premium one.

Also, on the control pads - I grew up with a ps1/ps2 but still prefer Xbox ones (ever since the original xbox s pads) as they're ergonomicaly (sp?) made to better suit the shape of your hands. If PS3 pads were "better", I doubt the RAF would use 360 ones for operations.

^ ps + user still don't get that feature do they ?

I posted it in freebies entertainment as I thought it would be more appropriate there, you think I should change it to gaming?

I don't believe they do. Whenever I play with my friend on the PS3 who is a PS+ member, we both just go into an Xbox party chat, stick our play and charge kits in and switch over to the PS3, it's annoying but it works better than anything else, we got the Bluetooth headsets but my one don't work so that is why.

In my house we hvae an xbox360 and ps3. We find the online was better on the ps3, we found downloading faster on the ps3. Most games look better on the ps3.

PS3 games only caught up recently in terms of graphics. I don't check it any more so I don't remember the website but it compares several screenshots from each version of every game, and for the first few years the 360 always won out.

Note: Not siding either way, I have both and use them both for different things, just chucking facts in there.

Now I'm gonna bow out of this thread before the fanboy war gets ugly and hurts my head...

Yes, something good today w00t!
#36
At last! All nicely hand-wavey and voice controlled too (or remote controlled or controller controlled).
Beat that PS3 fanboys!

Definitely worth the wait to get it right. Hot.

Good on the BBC for holding out and insisting that it is for Gold and Silver subsribers. Shame on M$ for trying to bully the BBC into providing it just for Gold subsribers.
#38
The PS3 will never ever have cross game chat, its been confirmed by Sony themselves, its down to how the PS3 handles itself (same reason you can't use the XMB music player while in game), only way to do it would be a hardware revision adding it

Of course, When Sony release a new model they only take things away now ;)
