Welcome to the Boots Volunteer System

Boots carries out studies and in-use tests on healthy volunteers to ensure our cosmetics, toiletries and skincare products meet the required standards before they go on the shelves in store. All our studies are co-ordinated through our purpose built Product Evaluation Suite.
Home user studies involve using products at home and completing a questionnaire about the product.
Controlled user studies involve volunteers visiting the Evaluation Suite. This could be a one off visit for example a focus group or several visits over several months for example an anti-wrinkle study.

Want to Help Boots?

Want to participate in testing new toiletries, skincare and cosmetic products? Living in the UK? Aged 18 or over? If you have answered Yes to all these questions:

Fill in the form and they send you another to sign and return so you can start testing there stuff

sounds like a way of boots getting the product testing doen without paying for the service.

there are company that pay testers £100's for such research.

If your head swells up and your eyes fall out, do you get to keep the samples :giggle:

I have been a tester for boots for 7 mths now and had loads of things to test. You need to log in to the home page and see what trials there are and register for them. They dont automatically enter you for a trial and they dont email you to confirm that there are trials that you are applicable for either. I usually get 2-3 items per month and a questionnaire to fill in after. Well worth applying!

Ok, im sure this will be deleted because someone will be unnecessarly offended by me saying this but i felt it needed to be said. Nb, no offence is intended.

WHY WOULD YOU DO THIS???

Are you really that cheap that you want a small sample of a product, any product, to use on yourself? Why risk your health, even if its not in a big way, just to get something you have been tricked into thinking is free? Its not free, your labour is being used so really you are paying for the privilege. If you spend an hour answering questions when you could be working for a wage even at minumum wage you lose £5.73. These massive companies dont need to do this but when there are people easy enough to trick into this why should they pay you for this when you give it away for free.

This is the complete opposite of a freebie.

This was posted a few months ago on MSE, as a result hundreds of people signed up. When you are accepted you have to sign into the testing site on a daily basis, or more frequently, to check for the availability of new trials. They only have 65 samples of each product to test and it seems to be on a first come, first served basis. Some people are lucky and grab loads of trials while others get nothing. The website is a bit cranky too and will say you have "completed" the trial which apparently means you've been accepted for it, but no samples sent.

I was a member but asked Boots to remove my details from their list after months of excuses and apologies about their broken site. It's worth a try but don't get your hopes up, Litmus Test and Cosmetic Research Online seem much more organised and professional.

PS Litmus Test pay you a small amount in Boots vouchers when you participate in a trial.

mmm, ive decided to give it a go too.
if u havent been selected it may be that you have not met their criteria of who they are looking for yet to test a certain product.
it doesnt cost anything and you can choose if you want to test the stuff when it arrives...

so, nothing lost for having a nose..
