I hesitated before commenting on this
deal as, like mobile, Sports Direct or
Tesco wild goose chase deals it will
raise the hackles.
I bought a years deal for Bitdefender
Internet Security for three PCs. Whilst
it worked OK I found it slowed my
system down a lot. I uninstalled and
went back to AVG free plus Windows
firewall and have a faster PC and no
problems at all. This is my own
experience and I know others may
have different experiences of Bit-
defender so let's hear the views.
Please keep it polite.

I ran norton for years, changed to the AVG deal posted here a few months back and it slowed my laptop to a crawl. Installed this instead and I now have a quicker laptop again.

Horses for courses I suppose. But if you want Bitdefender Internet Security then this is a good offer yeah?

I tried Bitdefender antivirus and this not only slowed my PC down to a crawl but it caused other issues on my PC.

I managed to uninstall and clear up the issues it caused my PC and now I run ESET nod32 which I find works very well.

Bitdefender did not work for me, but this was over 6 months ago and maybe they have improved their products.

There are user reviews on CNET which also make comments about performance:

I am running this now and I don't find it as good as Kaspersky or Eset nod32 It's still better then Norton and Macafee.
We have AVG at work and I just don't get on with it.

I took the free 9 month offer posted by a member here in March. Absolutely brilliant, though my laptop is recent, decent specs I have had no problems whatsoever.

For those whose systems are running slow, might I suggest giving your machine a good clean up?

I have to say that my PC is fast and is cleaned using tools such as ccleaner etc.

I don't know why this product slowed down my PC...maybe it interfered with other products on the PC, but judging by the user reviews on CNET (see my previous post), I am not the only one who encountered performance problems with Bitdefender antivirus. This software also corrupted some of the drivers on my PC which I had to reinstall. Why?

I have experimented and tried many other antivirus programs and none slowed my PC down to a crawl except Bitdefender.

I have to say that I am giving comments based on my experience - maybe they have improved their products within the last 6 months to remove those issues.

I now use ESET nod32 which works very well and I have no performance issues with ESET.

You get me? .. no self respecting Software 'Security Company' these Days (for the last 10+ Years going now?) would be seen DEAD without doing the same thang to be honest wirh you? .. Norton AntiVirus 2001 (NOT Norton Internet Securities) came out in 2000 .. Panda Internet Securities 2010 came out in 2009, & ..... lol. :-)

Microsoft started that 'craze' of from wayyyyyy back in the Early to Mid-90's when after Windows 3.0, Windows 3.1, & Windows 3.11 For Work Groups came & went, decided to instead Label their up & coming 'Newer Version' of Windows O/S NOT as Windows 4? (in-line with the Asending 'Numbering System' they & everyone else had previously before used?), but rather as Windows 95 OSR 1, & Windows 95 OSR 2 in 1995, & Windows 98, Windows 98 Upgrade, & Windows 98 SE (Windows 98 'Second Edition' all in 1998, & both Windows ME (Windows 'Millenium') & Windows 2000 borh around the 2000/2001 mark? ...

YEP! .. all of these were well 'Documented' throughout the Worlds Press/Media at the time? (& not just via PC Magazines, etc?) .. longgggggg before the likes of Google were Google, & Face Book were Face Book Microsoft was a 'Powerhouse' that the Worlds Media watched excessively! .. Norton & Netscape were both on the raise around this kinda of the Early to Mid-90's too ..... (both Company's of which has since 'Changed Hands' since around the 2000 mark or so?).

Well that is your choice, though extremely foolish.

Not really.
The only PC I have access to is my work one and the network is secure enough.
Plus I know what I'm doing on a computer so I know how to keep it virus free.

Your point is? There are many different Internet security programmes, shall we list them all?
