What's not to like: it's an eyetest. It's free. Have some heat.

it's it possible to get eye test done at boots and go somewhere else with prescription to get the glasses?

Yes, I always get my test at boots and buy elsewhere, after my test I tell them I'm not sure of the frames and I'll take the prescription and come back with my husband or daughter.

I guess it is but you don't have to get your glasses from them so it is still a winner.

I'd advise everyone to get an eye test, even if you don't think you need glasses.

My opticians (Boots strangely enough) picked up the early signs of glaucoma and reffered me to the local eye hospital which confirmed It. I'm in my 40's so it's not something you'd normally expect.

Luckily for me it was at such an early stage I've only lost a tiny bit of vision in one eye and, as long as I continue to use eye drops everyday for the rest of my life, it should stay that way.

Oh and I get free eye tests for life now too!

I buy mine from select specs, you just add your prescription when ordering, or they will do it if you ask. Much cheaper options than some of the rip off shops.

Never bought specs online before. I like the idea of the big savings but what do you do about minor adjustments usually needed to the frames to get a perfect fit? These are made in store for free when buying from high street opticians but can you get this done somewhere if you buy online?

Me and the missus need an eye test, all booked in and saved us £50.

I thought the same but went in with mindset not to buy anything. They did eye test and saw no major change to the current one. So no sales at all.

The "current one"? How many eyes have you got? XD

ONLY one pair... When I meant the current one, it is the glasses which I already have.
